Sarah, do you have any connections with eVGA do they keep their high end customers (DS) informed of what's coming your way? Just wondering?

There are more than several exciting new noteworthy features on this board that are now able to be mentioned. For instance, the board allows full 3-way SLI nForce 200 x16/x16/x16 style to be used with room left over for a PCI-E x1 audio card on the top slot. This essentially enables a flexible PCI-Express slot arrangement for the ultimate 3-Way SLI + PhysX + audio card setup that enthusiasts have only dreamed of up until now. In addition, the CPU core power circuitry has been completely redesigned with Super-low ESR and ESL Film Capacitors placed right behind the CPU Socket, so only the cleanest power goes into the CPU. A high-quality CPU socket is also used, with three times the normal amount of gold content for the lowest impedance and highest current transfer. Furthermore, it is complemented by its slick shiny black anodized coloring. For users with water cooled or extreme cooled GPU setups, there are now four PCI-Express Enable/Disable jumpers, one per slot, that allow multi-GPU setups to be troubleshooted without having to take out the cards. source: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/255802-30-evga-classified-motherboard-unveiled |

So, for someone intending to run only a single GPU for the foreseeable future, then I don't have all the much to gain by waiting for it?
I would like to get a system on order soon, so I'm trying to get all the options nailed down. Sure, there is a chance I MAY want to do to sli sometime down the road, but by then there may be three newer generations of MBs out on the market. Plus, being the first on the block with the newest thing out isn't always the best way to go. Reliability is a very important issue to me right now. |

well even if u do go with another X58 motherboard i thnk all of them have 2 or more PCI express slots so you can always run two or more cards no matter wat, the only real features for this board are that all the slots run at full x16 speed, and theres room for an x1 card

Hey Rich Z....No need to wait for this one, buy now or wait a bit and maybe the other MOBO's will go down in price hehe. This stuff is for "BLEEDING EDGE" Geek's like me who want the "LATEST and GREATEST" and have to much money on their hands!

Good point. I'm not even sure I would want my system overclocked. For that matter, maybe I just need to consider how much money should be thrown at minimally incremental increases in performance. Back in the day when processor increases were a DOUBLING of performance, the increases were something you could see. Now, with an increase in processor clock speed of, say, 2.93 and 3.2 gHz, we seem to need benchmark programs to TELL us there is a difference. |

From TechConnect Mag. Bad news for those with money to burn (BEd: spend, not burn), as EVGA has t delay the release of its newest X58 motherboards, the FTW-beating X58 SLI Classified. Seen below, the board was expected to ship at the end of this month but now its maker is targeting the second week of March for its debut.
Featuring a 10-phase Digital PWM, dual 8-pin CPU power connectors and four NF200-backed PCIe x16 slots, eight SATA ports and dual Gigabit Ethernet, the X58 SLI Classified will cost $450 / 450 Euro. |
