So does this mean that the 780i board I have isnt utilizing my 1066 ram?

The supported specs mean that the mobo officially supports it so if a problem occurs, the manufacturer will help you instead of saying f**k off because it's not officially supported.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.
