Well looks like eVGA is allowing users to try the new network card on the loaner program. I have always been curious if it really is worthwhile, here is my chance to see if it really helps my WOW and Warhammer Online framerates. If it is a significant boost I will be picking up my copy of the beast as I do love my MMORPGs.

Like most of you I have been skeptical, but a two week trial if I am chosen sounds like a perfect opportunity to assess it for myself for just the cost of shipping.

before getting that here are some of my advices:

1. think about your pci slots
2. as long your not lagging, you dont need it
3. and i see ur rig is pretty tight.... your pcu can handle that itself.

Its just another way for killer NIC to try and sell some of there worthless cards.. Slap the evga name on it and say your going to see a 10-20% increase in fps. These cards are definitley not worth a pci slot..

For anyone that will be interested in this, we will be adding it to our configurator once it is released.

As I said to all you its definitely not worth it types... I signed up for the 2 week trial test program, the card is sent to you freee you get to use it for 2 weeks, see for yourself if it has meaning in your rig, and then you send it to the next person on the list after 2 weeks.

Your only cost is the cost of UPS ground signature required to the next person... so for a light little card, next to nothing to try it out for 2 weeks.

I am skeptical always have been, but I am also curious and a hardware hound :) so this is an opportunity to try it out risk free and see if it really is what they hype.

I have no intention to buy unless I really see the net gains they state in the advertisement on their site.

Awesome.. The cards have been proven a gimmick in the past, it will be cool to see if they actually deliever the performance they claim.

Looking forward to the review kliebor2..

Yeah, I am hoping I manage to get in, there is no promise, all I can do now is wait to see if I get on the list, they said they expect very high demand for these loaners...

If I get one you can bet I will let everyone know exactly what I find in my rig...

I am not running the latest greatest anymore, but my rig is still pretty up to date and can kick some serious butt in most games.

    Optimizes and speeds network operations

Prioritizes game network traffic to ensure game data is always injected into the game the instant it arrives.

Offloads packet processing for latency intensive applications, like VoIP, to provide clear and clean communications

Frees up the CPU to do more game logic and other computations.

Optimizes and speeds network operations = pretty much BS

Prioritizes game network traffic to ensure game data is always injected into the game the instant it arrives. = this might help a bit, not sure how much

Offloads packet processing for latency intensive applications, like VoIP, to provide clear and clean communications = this might help your audio not your game.

Frees up the CPU to do more game logic and other computations. = if I had p4 1.8GHz, maybe I could use this help.

Yeah, I am not expecting much, but, I am extremely curious...

So I signed up to see if I get one for a trial, I figure a free trial will not hurt.

By the way, pricing is released now...

Killer Xeno PCI-E 129.99 (128 MB memory, 400 Mhz network processor)
Killer Xeno Ultimate PCI-E 179.99 (256 MB memory, 400 Mhz network processor)

So Price has been cut by about 50% (42% on one and 59% on the other) and memory increased 4 fold from the old Bigfoot Killer NICs

Just thought I'd let you all know.
