Those are some amazing prices if you don't mind being slightly behind the bleeding edge...

Someone has an inventory problem they are trying to clear up...

Randy,

I think its about time for that bonus Alex needs to give you. How about a couple 9800x2s or 8800 Ultras?

You rig is looking pretty feeble for a DSO guy. Something needs to be done about it.Thumbs%20Up

That would be nice. But im still happy with this rig. Plays my COD4 maxed out at 1680 x 1050. Thats all that matters to me right now. Plus I would rather get a pay raise. :)

I took the plunge for another Ultra.  Thanks for the point out SkyR!  I'm not having nearly enough problems with my setup, so I thought I'd throw SLI in there to give me something to whine about in the forums.

Too good to be true?

I got a call from EVGA today saying they couldn't fill all the orders they received for the 8800 Ultra Superclocked edition card, but that for the same price they would offer me the standard edition 8800 Ultra which they still have in stock.  While I initially felt violated in receiving less merchandise than I initially ordered, I stepped back, realized that I was paying one third of what the card was going for the last week of August, and graciously accepted their offer.  (Not to mention the $5 in EVGA bucks they credited my account for a future purchase.)  Since my existing Ultra is standard, my understanding is that the Superclocked card would have defaulted to the slower speed anyway once I SLI them.  Plus, with only Stage 2 cooling, I don't need the extra heat that OCing the GPUs would cause.
Wish me luck, and Kelly, stand by for a phone call when I seriously eff up the installation in a few weeks.
