During the moderators monalog he infers, says that you can isolated my words the PCIe lanes. Thinking as noted way to I.D. bad GPU prior to disconnecting from system (think water cooling I did)....my electrician in me... isolate and fix...
The second is for the 4x...
This was pulled from T. D site....?
Bill
PS Sorry took some time to find this, as I have research off and on since Aug.

what i believe he meant by isolation is that you don't have to put the pgus next to each other so that they have room the breathe thus reducing you temps. this motherboard is large enough and the slots are placed so you can do that.
i like the easy troubleshooting with the gpus hit a button and you disable a pci-e lane. this really helps you find out which gpu is the culprit. watching that really made we want to learn how to overclock! i wonder since you can fit 3x gtx 285 and a 9500 gt (9500 dedicated physics gpu) can you put 3x 5870 + 1 smaller ati card for the same result. the answer is probably no but since ati doesn't have any cards with physx on them. but it never hurts to ask nvidia definatly had the right idea with physx too bad ati hasn't followed suit Edited by Raif - 08 Jan 2010 at 5:20pm |

@Raif, That is the feature I was referrin in isolation/ing. hence my wording... ie the Button, jumper used to isolate a lane on the PCIe bus.... coouuulllllll
Mr D, I enclosed both for general info. I am going with the 3x,
