Hello.
As most of you people have heard or have seen through all of my topics, I am currently looking at parts to buy so I can build my kick ass computer for gaming, that I want to last for 5 years (basically through med. school). Budget: 2300 USD ($) Requirements: 1) Resolution 1920x1200 2) High frames per second gaming. 3) Future-proof. Upgradable. Overclock-able. 4) Games: Crysis, Call of Duty, Star Craft II. Questions: 1) EVGA X58 Classified Motherboard. Is it worth it? (Yes I might want to clock the CPU a little. Cause I am buying the Noctua AIR cooler) 2) Do I have to get the i-7 920? Or can I buy a cheaper one and clock it? 3) How much memory is necessary? (example: 3Gb, 1600 MHz corsair Dominator) 4) What brand of the ATI HD 5870 GDDR5 card is recommended? (MSI, Sapphire, Asus, PowerColor, XFX or HIS?) 5) Is the Cooler Master HAF 922 midi tower good enough, or should I go with the 932 full tower? NB! Please answer with numbers as I have written it, cause almost allways when people answer, they write it so I don't understand. (not too god with english, sorry). |

1. Classified is good but if 16x and 8x are ok with you the LE will do just fine.
2. 920 is the way to go. 3. 6GB, 1600MHz 4. Sapphire 5. 932 |

Do you mean that the Classified has better than 16x? Or do you mean it has more than just one of each 16x & 8x? |

might sound confusing, but what DST means is once you go xfire.
the x16 becomes x8
so you'll be running dual x8 pci-e
but if you have 1 video card, it'll be running of x16 (single slot)
run 2 and both will run x8 per slot. sort of splits it.
so for future proof classified is the way you want to go.

3 way does 3x sli so that is all you will need ever, specially with new card that are out and coming out.
