Quick question for anyone who has made an order within the past few months; how long did each stage take for you?

Curious since I want to know what to expect at the least regarding my own purchase; I'm assuming stage 1 alone takes around 2 weeks minimum with all the potential delays relating to both the recent holiday season & issues with the pandemic.

Regardless, really excited for my order so I wanna know how patient imma have to beeee!

As a side note, what did you order? For my own build I chose the 3080 & the Ryzen 3950.

Oof, that's a long wait; I hope the rest is a bit quicker for you seeing that you're on stage 5 now. I'll have to keep that stage time in mind; I'm on stage 1 right now, gonna hope it's a little quicker haha

Ordered in November and stage one was about 2 months, but when you hit stage 3 it goes by faster. I’m getting my pc shipped next week.

Ok, here's more info for those of you still waiting.
I belong to several groups in areas and constantly peruse many forums and news items.

I feel confident that DS is doing the best they can to fulfill orders as quickly as they can. BUT... let's throw the pandemic in there, the forced guidelines that they have to follow, and being in Cal. I imagine they are some of the most stringent.
Now, throw in the parts issue that is affecting everything being made that uses a chip, processor, capacitors .... you name it, if it is electronic than there are a myriad of manufacturers begging for the electronic components they need.
Heck, I read the other day that some auto manufacturers are cutting back on projected new vehicle inventory output because of "the low number of chips" they need and expect to get.

Appliances, TVs, Audo Visual.. the list goes on.
Now look in to all those out there that take advantage of the situation and they, the scalpers, scarf up a lot of what is out there to sell at outrageous prices.

I hope you are catching my drift here. Coming down on DS is not going to speed up your build. Sure, perhaps they could be more informative as to where you are in the build process, but I suspect that THAT would require personnel and time to put all that info out there to all those waiting on PCs. ............ Go back to the Covid restrictions and imagine how that would impact that scenario.

Yes, I too waited an extended time for my PC and then it arrived and would not boot up due to shipping damage. Shippers too have been severely impacted by Covid as there has been an astronomical increase of items being shipped from the massive on line buying due to Covid. Hence, I imagine they are not as careful with packages as they normally might be.
Sent mine back, it was fixed and came back in perfect working order.

I post all this to try and help everyone, maybe, understand a little better what DS is going through. Not just them, I don't care where you might have tried to have a custom PC built, you would run in to the same problem.

I have been gaming a long time and DS has always been a solid company that many, many of my gaming buds have had DS build their PCs.

Be patient, you will get a good PC if it is not damaged during shipping. This used to be a rare thing, but lately seems to be happening more than in the past. DS will take care of you.

Crap, fell off my soap box and now I can't get up! ;-)

I don’t feel like anyone was coming down on DS in this thread! The OP asked about the stage times we are experiencing. We are posting our stage times is all. No one complaining sir!

Glad to see some aren't experiencing the dreaded 2 - 3 month wait times that've been happening. Honestly, I'm surprised DS haven't had more delays & issues than they do. Glad to see they have such good customer service, it definitely helps during these times.

For anyone on this post after all this my order was processed three days after I ordered; I'm currently a little over a week but that's to be expected. If you ordered in January, most likely it'll take a month or so to exit stage 1 from what I've been gathering. Best of luck with your ordersss~!

I don't believe anyone is complaining at the moment; this post is out of curiosity for me since I understand that the wait is going to be pretty long with all the orders that are currently in. Honestly, all these replies help since I've been a bit antsy to replace my old computer for work; knowing it'll be a month or two somewhat settles the restlessness & continue working with what I have for a bit. / How much I should keep up maintenance & what to expect. Thanks for your reply regardless, I've definitely seen a few other forum posts that aren't exactly understanding about all this lol

I did not post this with "complaints" in mind. I merely posted this as info for all those waiting on their PCs. Hopefully, it is also read by those that posted in other threads that might need some help in understanding the current situation DS is in.

Perhaps I should have posted somewhere else here at the forums, regardless, it is info that might be useful even to the OP.

I was looking into that model, I decided the extra cooling wasn't needed for me. Still think it looks pretty neat out of the bunch. As a fan of minimalist stuff, the Velox is definitely more for me lol

The Aventum is sweet, but don't need all that cooling, AND, having had an "open custom cooling loop", I don't care to deal with them any more. Hence I choose the Velox, great air flow and with the closed cooling for the cpu, it keeps my stuff chilly!

dec 16th waited just under 2 months and its sooo worth it. Beauty of a rig and i find myself just looking at it randomly lmaoo. Be patient and respectable and good things will come. Also their support team is on it! Was helped with a minor question via phone in less than 24 hrs. They make u wait because that tech is with you until the issue is resolved. Its like having my own build tech right in my room. Service is a 10/10 and thats what matters!

Based on their service & support alone they've pretty much guaranteed my second purchase for whenever I'm looking into another computer one day. Really excited for the Velox I ordered! I'll probably end up doing the same, lol

So this post is for anyone who sees it in the future:
Stage One - January 29th, 2021
Stage Two - February 11th, 2021

The components I ordered are the 3080, & the Ryzen 3950. For orders with the Ryzen 5000 series there seems to be some extensive delays, especially with almost all recent orders requesting those products; if you haven't ordered a series 5000 CPU then you probably will average the 25 day estimated time until the product ships, possibly under. Anyway, that's what I've gathered~ Hope it helps!

I ordered a 5800X, which is probably the least popular in the 5000 series lineup, and I'm still hitting 25 business days in stage 1 today. I was told that my parts haven't even been set aside and logged yet, so I guess it really is just the massive line.

I'm terrified of having to wait another month or two because I chose a 5000 series CPU. And here I thought I was being safe by not selecting a GPU option...

Yeah, I was honestly surprised to see a decent surplus of the 3080 after all of these holiday orders which was a big incentive for my purchase. Hopefully you enter Stage Two soon; a lot of posts I've seen seemed to average like a month in Stage One if they had a 5000 series CPU... If anything, there is some hope that you aren't at the very back of the line! It is definitely a long wait, but it should be worth it.

Well, the optimism is certainly appreciated, haha. I see too many posts from November orders hitting stage 5/6 these last couple of days for me to feel great about my prospects. Guess we'll see.

It’s definitely a long line but I don’t think the line plays that big of a part as you might think. I’m still at stage 2 after ordering November 27th. Been in stage 1 since dec 1st. Best of luck

That is quite the wait. Sorry to hear that. And thanks! I went with a soft-line watercooled bolt-x, so maybe a faster build than say, someone with a hard-line aventum. Maybe that'll help me, eventually.

I think you’ll be good. They seem to be pushing out orders pretty quickly. I think it’s just a very unlucky few of us getting stuck.

Came here today looking just for a thread about this to see what’s happening with others. 2nd time customer. Ordered a Lynx on 12/9. Still in Stage 3 :(   My 9 yr old or so DS has taken a $hit and I’m currently trying to duct tape the OS and keep it running for another month or so.

My only gripe is paying in full 2 months ago and knowing it probably will still be another month until it ships. I realize it’s not DS’ fault. They make a great product worth waiting for. Still looking forward to seeing that shipping confirmation email.
