I assume that you mean you are at Stage 1 for a new purchase? I was about 6 business days into Stage 1 this past Sunday when I called DS and upgraded my RAM from 16 to 32GB. They said that was no problem and would not delay my build.

Just give them a call and tell them what you would like to change and they will work with you.

However, if you just want to add an external hard drive, I would just buy one of my choosing from a retail outlet. I just bought a Western Digital 4TB external hard drive for $99. Check prices online and order what you need.

On a Lynx level one, it looks like your motherboard, in back of the case, will have 4 USB 3 ports, and a couple of type 2 ports. There will be one more type 3 conveniently located in the front of the case itself to plug into. You can use any of these. Be sure to buy a fast USB 3 capable drive.

Sorry Beth, I obviously mis-interpreted your post.
