External Optical Drive recommendations

   I need to get an external optical drive as the DS desktops do not have a built-in one.

Considering it is a gaming computer, but also will serve as a GP desktop:

1. Do I need BluRay capability? Or would CD/DVD suffice? (I mean, how much do I need a BR - do games come on BR disks, what If I wanted to watch a BR movie...etc)

2. Considering those come as USB2 or USB3 - how critical is it to have USB3 (I'd love it for GP operation but then it is not a paramount).

3. Most important: what brand is liked the most? Amazon has very mixed reviews of the most brands.
