I am new to forum, but have been reading for a few months now. I am currently working with a amd 3500 single core with 2 gigs ram and a 7600 video card. Needless to say, I figure that either one of these systems will be a pretty nice upgrade from what I currently have. I know everyone is gung ho on the 2x 275 cards vs the 1 295. I am looking at the big picture in that I plan on keeping this computer for 5 years and dont know if 750 pcu will do it for the next generation of cards if I want to try sli. I would like to be able to play age of conan in dx10 with settings with a view in game of more then 100 feet, that is what i am dealing with at the moment.

If you tell me your res. and you have a budget I might be able to put something together for you, otherwise I think the best one is the Extreme 1. Yes, it has a weak 750w psu, but get over it. The 2x275's will out perform the 1x295. Unofortunatly it comes with 1tb, but both of them do so get over that to. You got 6GB's of app speed, and 3.8OC on both. GET THE EXTREME 1! OMG Otherwise give me your resolution and budget. THanks. Hope I helped.

I would say if you really think you will be going for future upgrades to either:
a) get the extreme 1 and when you want to upgrade, upgrade your PSU if necessary. I'm fairly certain DS will be able to do this for you without much hassle. I'm not sure how much this would cost, though. This will save money now, and the new PSU will probably bring your price up to the extreme 2, but that won't be for a few years yet. So, in this case, you save money now, but may spend a bit more later. b) spend more money and get the extreme 2 now, don't worry about upgrading PSU in a few years. Really, in either case I don't think you can go wrong. The good thing about the extreme 1 is that it's cheaper, and who knows if you'll ever even need a PSU so large. On the other hand, the extreme 2 has a better mobo and is more "future-proof" than the extreme 1. I'd say it depends on what you're willing to spend right now vs later, really. |
