Here is where I am going to show my ignorance on this. I have heard of folding, but never actually looked into it nor done it. So who wants to be the lucky one to point me in the right direction of a few links where I can read up on it?

what is fah

PPD is point per day, each working unit (WU) has points, when susccessfully folded you get certain amounts of points.

its basically helping scientist to understand and hopefully find cures or treatment for diseases like Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, cystic fibrosis, BSE (Mad Cow disease)and cancer.

Interesting, I may look into doing this myself, maybe if I will get bored I will start my own team and see what comes of it, might make it a bit more interesting for me if im being competetive.

Imagine, if we tested all Digital Storm systems as an additional test for F@H using GPU's. The power of all the high-end overclocked units with triple SLI?

Only bad thing is that SLI is no good for F@H. It will only use 1 core, per client.

ATI was supposed to fix this with its 9.2 catalysts but they didn't....

@Sarah, the best client for CPU is the SMP client.

you can find the smp and gpu clients here(for smp you want the one titled "6.23 beta for MPICH (32-bit or 64-bit)" )

the GPU client has the most points.

@Alex, you can test the GPU's and CPU with FAH, they will put them to work like nothing else.

however FAH does not use sli, you actually have to disable sli, but this allows you to run a client per core, so a 295 for example can run 2 instants of the client.

I'm getting 3 x 295 so I would be able to run 6 clients.
