Wondering for a second opinion from you guys here, I brought a couple of fans that I've swapped out over the years to a robotics team that I'm involved with to use for a method of cooling down some onboard electronics. Anyhooo, today, we were testing out the fan we had in at the time using our 12v car battery (used for the robot). The fan was supposed to be this insane, 150CFM 60dBA beast of a thing, and it didnt turn out as so for some reason. So we thought the battery might have just lost power, and I got out one of my spare CM fans to test. We didn't have any alligator clips at the time, so we just scrounged a random 24A cable and used that. Lo and behold, when my buddy was sticking it to the molex to 3-pin connector, he accidentally shorted the two wires, and there was this nice toasty popping noise for 1 and a half seconds. When he finally got the two wires apart, the neutral wire had actually managed to weld itself to the molex pin. So we wrenched that off, and thought nothing of it.

Annnd, I think I've effectively killed a CoolerMaster fan (happy justin? LOL) And now, I'm very afraid to plug it in again to see whether it still works or not, lol. I think I smelled smoke in the car on the way home in fact, probably from the fan. Jw what anyone else thinks on this, or to applaud the death of a CoolerMaster fan Hahaha

Poor CM fan

You want a 190cfm fan with 60 dba, which if you ask me sound more like a jet engine?

try the delta ffb 1212EHE I got 4 of these and they are loud, but they blow air like crazy.

IMHO, there has yet to be a single coolermaster product worth a darn ever .. and I have tried most of them through the years.. marketing, gimmicks, and BS are the 3 ingredients to all coolermaster products.
