    Posted: 08 Dec 2008 at 8:09pm
We are working on a buying guide for customers, we are going to feature a QA (Question then Answer) section, and we have these questions so far:

1. Why should I invest in faster memory speeds?
2. Do faster spinning hard drives really make a difference? What about RAID configurations?
3. Why would I buy more than 2GB of system memory?
4. Do I really need liquid cooling? Will heat damage my system?
5. Should I really Overclock my computer, is it worth the risks?
6. Do I really need multiple video cards?
7. Why would I choose an Intel system over AMD?
8. Why would I choose an NVIDIA system over ATI?
9. Do I really need a dedicated sound card?
10. Why does my monitor size affect the performance of my games?
11. Should I really invest into Vista? What about a 64-bit version?

Any other questions you would like to see? Or feedback? Any sections you would like to see in the buying guide?

Let us know,
Alex

Here is one Alex:

 - Do I need to get extra case fans, even though my case comes with some already?

Alex, once you've settled upon the new selection of audio cards, I'd be happy to update the write up I did earlier for DSO.
Off-topic, but quieter optical drives are available and don't cost that much more. I'd be willing to spend the extra bucks for one that doesn't sound as if it wants to take off during the start of my games. There are some concerns regarding noise levels by today's consumers, so I thought I'd throw that in.

What are the pros vs. cons of liquid cooling to air cooling?
Why get my computer built by a business when I can do it myself?
Will my computer last 5 years (technologicaly)?

Kind of sounds like you are endorsing Intel and NVIDIA...

As a non-techy recent purchaser (eagerly awaiting delivery... stage 2 currently)  the most important question to answer is:

Why should I purchase my computer from Digital Storm instead of the competitors?

What advantages will your company provide me.

I did a lot of research to come up with my own conclusion, but make it easy for people... tell them why and encourage them to call the company.  The personal touch is what made the difference to me (and all the kudos in the forums made me want to call and see what kind of response I would get)

Since I am non-techy and can't fix what breaks (although I hope to learn) I need to know that there is going to be someone there to help me if there is a problem.

So for me, the forum posts were the lure... and the reassurance I got when I spoke with someone on the phone (who knew what they were talking about... or faked it well enough that they fooled me Confused) was what reeled me in.
