I've been looking around to find a custom built machine with quality parts but certain components specifically left out (I have a 470 gtx and my own OS so i selected none for these options). Something like this configuration: 418588. DS seems to be one of the few reputable places I've found that has this capability. However, I am a little bit worried about how this will affect their quality control process. How do they run tests without a video card or an OS and can I trust that the remaining components are properly examined? Can someone who has ordered without these components provide some of their experiences? I attempted this type of thing with my last computer at a different company (which turned out to be a disaster) so I am a little paranoid about quality control without certain vital components ordered.

Thanks

Actually, as they've told me, they have a few hard drives lying around with windows on them, and a few spare video cards. These are designated specifically for your kind of system, when they stress test them, they just pop in these spare parts to verify the rest of the system's functionality. Then they just simply take them out before it goes in the box.

That is correct, we always ensure systems are 100% stable. We do however, advise against overclocking without an operating system selected.
