I had a few questions regarding the just-updated Back to School configurations and would love some feedback from you guys who obviously know more than I do.

First I'll give some background. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to hardware, so these preset configurations seem like the way to go as opposed to a more customized setup. I'll most likely be using this computer for just typical web use, World of Warcraft, and possibly a few FPS games. I'm planning on buying a 24-inch monitor but am undecided on particulars as of right now. I'm trying to decide between the "Extreme" and "Enthusiast 2" options. It seems that the two main differences are case size and graphics card.

1. If I choose the midsize HAF 922 (over the fullsize HAF 932), do you think I'll run into any problems in the future should I decide to upgrade specific components? Is there a big difference with regards to cooling capability with these different case sizes?

2. The pricier option comes with 2x SLI GTX-275 cards, while the cheaper one comes with a single GTX-285. What kind of practical difference would I likely see between these two? I've heard all sorts of horror stories (relatively speaking, obviously) about people using SLI having graphics/FPS issues while running World of Warcraft. Is there a huge difference between having two cards versus one card when running FPS games? I'm a bit clueless when it comes to this stuff, so forgive my ignorance.

3. Any suggestions for 24-inch monitors (mid-price, $300-$500) for either of these particular setups? I don't think I'll ever upgrade to a 30-inch, but if I can afford that, I'll most likely have the money to go balls-out on a new system to go along with it.

I appreciate any help/suggestions that you all can provide. Right now either of these systems will be head and shoulders above what I'm using right now: a 1.8ghz, 1gig mem laptop from 2004 with no internal cooling. Thanks in advance.

Ian

1. 932 is bigger has more room thus a little better airflow, and if you plan on going tri sli the 932 is what you want.

2. 2 x 275 is practically like 2 x 285. However wow does not use sli, so one 275 or 285 will give you the same perfomrance.

to be honest the Extreme looks like heck of deal, its faster, you can just simply disable sli for wow if needed, yet you can use the sli for games that do take advantage of it and for a 24" you do want the sli for games that support it, and you get the 932.

3. not sure about monitors, look for a monitor that has the same Viewing Angle, both vertical and horizontal, and above 170°.

you can make a thread in the hardware secion, skyR is very good with monitors he can point you to a right direction.

You can either get a Dell 2408WFP or BenQ G/V2400W. Probably the two best and most affordable 24" monitors you'll find. Both are around $400-$500.

The higher the contrast radio, brightness, and viewing angle the better for monitors.

The Extreme configuration supports a maximum of 2 video cards, as does the Enthusiast 2, so keep that in mind if your even considering triple sli in the future.
