I wanted to get that expanded Crysis free game but I didn't want any games pre-installed as I am really persnickety on where I put things. I also opted for the Wooden crate and am requesting 3 x 4GB memory sticks instead of the normal 6x2 arrangement. Will be calling Sarah later int he day when they get in to discuss the build. After waiting so long to place the order its kind of anti-climactic

well I figuered you would at least test it out under max stress, as part of your 20 page review we are all expecting, plus the video review required for any build over 8K.

I was considering the Syndicate style build with the mountain mod case, but would have wanted a horizontal motherboard tray and didnt feel like delaying any longer, Im happy with my choices as they stand... now...when does it go to stage 1?

The Configurator seems to indicate that...but I could be wrong. I didnt go with it because it wasnt set up with the horizontal mobo tray and...I think I will be better off witht he normal 24x9x24 form factor.

Yea was there a reason it wasn't set up horizontally? I normally don't like MM cases, but the black looks pretty cool.

Can anyone put up some images of a 'horizontally setup' MM case? I'll show the team.

I know that was pretty outrageous I just searched horizontal MOBO on MM site and linked it. Didn't bother going through gallery. I hope DS offers that sweet action figure with my new build! |

I'm jealous... =O
Even though I got my DS rig a couple of months ago, im gonna wait about 4-5 years and build up a 10k+ budget for a DS mini-super computer. Hear that DigitalStorm...! Yall better be as awesome in 5 years as yall are now so I can make me an uber-er rig! XD On a serious note tho, congratz on your comp :) You've waited like forever for the new cooling system to be released, you deserve it XD |

I've been waiting longer than you might think...about 5 years ago I decided when I got the right combo of technologies available I was going to spend major bucks...it took this long till I saw the right combination of stuff. In the mean time just built my own systems to get me by till today arrived

Ahh just legal stuff forms to be filled out and power requirements acknowledged.
You do need a hefty source of power, up to 10 amps. |

Says there are two power connections..Im assuming one for the PSU and one ofr the TEC portion, It says "This Computer" may draw up to 10 amps. And that you need to ensure your system is on a line that has that capacity or greater. My office is 15 or 20 amps so Im cool.
Im just wondering about if this will work with a 1500va BBU or not. Alex, Sarah said to direct the Battery backup question to you. I know I cannot plug my laser printer into a BBU as it trips the circuit every time, what about the TEC? Edited by MagiK - 16 Nov 2010 at 5:12pm |

Hmmm.. this old apartment only has a 15amp fuse for the office.
I wonder if I'd have an issue with this new system. Edited by Tidgxor - 16 Nov 2010 at 11:30pm |

From what we've seen, the entire system with the cooling unit draws about 6-7Amps but we want to ensure everyone is on the safe side.
@Tidgxor, as long everything in your office doesn't pull up to 15 amps and has enough room for the system, you should be all set. |
