First Build - Welcome all input

This is my first build and I would appreciate any recommendations and opinions you may have.

My budget:  $1,700 (desktop only)
                  $ 200 -  21"- 22" Monitor (1920 x 1080)

I am interested in a computer build that will last me 5 years.  I plan on playing games from Steam such as The Witcher, Portals, Rage & Hard Reset, plus some MMORPG's and web surfing.

I want a computer that is quiet and has good filters, since I have a cat.

Hi Shor,

Unless you change to the Vortex 240 you may have to drop down to a stage 1 OC on the CPU.

You should also take a look at the ODE Level 2 for $1699.

Since you have changed to the Vortex 240 then I would spend another 20 bucks for stage two OC.

It really won't make a big difference. Stage one OC will be 4.2 to 4.4 and a stage two OC will be 4.4 to 4.6 or so. At least that is what most run. You might have an exceptional CPU and get up to 4.7 or 4.8.
