Great Config , Just change your cpu cooling option for a Noctua or Corsair a70 .

why?

these are the best for cooling solutions

and change your mobo to the p8p67 default or deluxe .

I am new to gaming and not sure what all I need. As for my budget I was thinking $2500 to $2800.

I will have to pick up a new monitor also.  I really liked the ODE level 4 but when they changed the setup I lost interest in it.  I am not much of a gamer but I do like fast computers that will run what ever I throw at it.  I have an older dell XPS410 that is starting to show its age and was hoping to get into a nice custom build that I could hold onto for another 5  years.

Ask DS specifically for this fan to be added to the side, so you endup with 3 x 200mm fans:

haf 200mm non led fan

now this pc will give you decent gaming at that res and lot of power to do other stuff, only problem is that the 750w corsair is no longer in the config page and I don't trust the 750w DS certified as I don't know the real maker of the psu and it only has a 2 year warranty, so in short ask DS to use either the 750w corsair or if you want to be able to go sli, the 850w hx corsair.

Well let's say you're going to go with the 1920x1080, these are roughly 22-24 inch monitors. Pending on what type of games you play at this resolution of your monitor, it will also inform us what type of GPU power you need. Some people just play MMO's.. usually one card can handle this, but some people want Crysis and Metro2033 at max settings with full AA.. which usually requires SLi 570+.

I'd go with a air cooler, while people are thinking Liquid Cooling is better than air.. it's really the same.. Liquid Cooling is a luxury unless you're running like 3 full loops (3 radiators, 3 pumps to break some benchmark records). The A70 Corsair is a very good air cooler.. and so is the DH-14 Noctua. They have actually better temps then the H70 corsair.

Just to clarify, LC is better then air, but stage 2 lc systems here are not real LC systems as in they give same/less performance as teh noctua and the A70, which is what ironmb meant when he said lc is not better then air.

but if you get stage 4 lc or higher you will get better temps, tho they are not needed, and as ironmb pointed out, it is a luxury and not a necessity.

I more-or-so went on the basis that he was picking the H70, the true liquid cooling loops that DS does on the stage 4+ will have better temps, definitely.

Thanks DST4ME for the great config. One thing I might change is the case.  I really like the 650D.  I have tried a couple of games on my dell but with the newer games it freezes up.

650d is a good case too, if you like that then that is the right case for you.

the gpus in the dell are probably not able to handle it.
