I finally broke down and decide to buy my very first gaming PC. I am coming from using a -------- that is on it's last leg so very excited to be upgrading. I decided to go with the Vaqnuish 3 level 4 and hoping it can play my games at high settings :)
I did have a question about the SSD as I have never had one. With it being 250gb, would it be best to install my games onto that drive or will I not see much of a difference than if I installed on the other drive? Sorry, had to edit competitor's name..... Edited by Snaike - 14 Jul 2015 at 11:14pm |

Games on an SSD will load faster and also give smoother game play if the game loads data from the drive regularly like for landscape changes, etc. Depends on the game.

Thank you bprat22. The games I have been playing mostly are Heroes of the Storm, WoW and Wildstar. I am hoping to break into FPS like Battlefield and Planetside 2 since I will have a machine that can run them.

Not sure SSD would help much with Battlefield, but Planetside it might as it loads new maps, etc. Never tested it. Most games are fine off the HDD if the initial longer time to load isn't a problem. It's not a better fps thing as much as just smoother transition between scenes.

Ssd will be most helpful for very large open world games where the speed at which areas can be loaded from memory make appreciable difference. The games you listed would be fine on a hdd. And the computer you bought will max out all of the games you listed at 1080p.

The 250Gb is big enough that you can load the games you are currently playing. But, if you have a pot full of games I would load the majority on the HDD. If you decide to play a game that is on the HDD and will be playing it for a while, you can move it to the SDD. By moving the games in and out of the SSD/HDD you can keep from using up all of the 250Gb SSD. Or, if you use up the SDD and don't want to move some games to the HDD then you can add a second SSD.

I loaded Wow on my SSD but many of my other games are on my Hard Drive since I do not play them as much.
