Whats the 3rd tiny hard drive gonna be used for? I never really understood the purpose or differences from 800 vs 1066 MHz Memory. I still get confused about it. 800 would be fine as long as you arnt planning to super overclock things.Personally i dont see a reason to dump more money for a 780i MB right now.
Im a cheapo so spending 10 bucks for some interior lighting is a no-no for me. I got a flashlight and i tend to work in well lighted areas when I open up my computers..and i really am not into the impress my friends with my computer type deal lol.
I assume you have some good speakers already 5.1 surround or higher to make good use of that soundcard or some nice headphones.
Save the 25 bucks on the round cables IMHO. By the description I assume it only applies to floppy and CD drives, and since you only have 1, youre gonna pay 25 bucks for one cable. Up to you though.
Id ask also if maybe you could get by with a 620W PS instead of a 750, though its pushing it probably.
I like all the other stuff though. Wish i could afford the case and gfx get up.

Thanks for the input.
Rounded cables - Good point. Int Lighting - Another good point. Not in to impressing anyone, so I agree not needed.
Third Drive - I was planning on installing my OS on the small drive and use the other two for storage. While I like games, I am also a photographer and need the space for images. So the other two drives are for storage, music and programs, etc. If this is not a good solution let me know. Also know that I have several backups of all these pictures.

Be sure to let us know you want the OS installed on the small drive if/when you order.

I agree. A 667 is enough for base FSB speeds as I understand it. If you have the ram faster then the processor, I dont think it will do much good as the ram would have to wait for instructions. Even the 800 ram would be good enough to bring the e6850 from a 3.0GHz to a 3.6GHz. The 1066 would (as I understand it, but I'm not an expert) bring you to a 4.8GHz on the same chip. |

So getting the 1066 memory is basically a waste at this point and I could save a few bucks and get the 800 mem?
I have been reading a bit on the net and I am getting conflicting stories about the processor. Most of what I read says the Q6600 gets you the most bang for the buck and anything better than that is not recommended since the increase in performance is not enough to justify the extra price at this point. Anyone have any comments?

1066 RAM allows you to set tighter timings once you find the speed you want to run the RAM at for a given overclock. RAM timings affect latency and bandwidth of the RAM, and this will have an effect on overall performance.
PC6400 is pretty good RAM for overclocking a Q6600. PC8500 is about as good as you will ever need for the same purpose. IMO, a high grade PC6400 is the best bang for the buck. The Dominator 800Mhz would be my top pick for overclocking that chip. |

I would take the 160 HD and partition it so you have a 60gb OS partition and ~100gb for programs, that way you still have a clean OS partition, you gain 80gb extra space, you get a 16mb cache instead of 8mb and it costs you $4.
Put the small drive as drive 1 to avoid confusion as to where the OS goes and add a note telling them to partion it 60/100.
