First PC / Need Help and Advice

Hi, I'm a recent convert from my macbook pro to an ODE level 2 I just bought from digital storm. I haven't used a pc in a long time, at least since high school, so sorry in advance if some of my questions are simplistic but any help would be great. I've been playing with it all week, mostly following advice from the forums here (like setting up antivirus/spyware) but i've come across a few questions. Thought I should try out this forum first;

1. I had been logging in fine from first startup but I decided I should establish a password on my acount for security. I went into account settings in control panel and saw that i already had an account set up with my name as administrator (presumably by DS themselves)so I added a password no problem. But now when I startup I get to the welcome screen and it just says something like "access to your account has been denied. please check with system administrator." and i have to click "ok". it then has two login choices; "administrator" and "other user" and if i click admin and put my password in it says it is not valid. I have to click on other user, put in my name and password and it will log in fine. Super annoying and hopefully someone knows a quick fix.

2. I wanted to get an opinion on external battery backups and whether or not I should get one. I'm not in an area of high power outages but someone told me that they are good because they "even out" the electrical current coming in. plus it might be good to prevent lost saves if it gets unplugged accidentally. Do you guys use one, and if so what power level should i get?

3. The ODE level 2 come with dual 560 graphics cards and there is a port for connecting an HDMI cable to both of them. I want to run a cable from it to my 42" LED TV, to stream video(hulu/netflix)in HD. Does it matter which card i plug it into? I have my monitor in the first spot on the top card, should I put the HDMI into the lower card? And if I just leave it connected but not actually on that input on the tv will it have any negative effects on my computer(slowdown when gaming)?

4. I love the window on the side of my tower and the quality way digital storm did the wiring, really a work of art. To keep it looking great I wanted any advice on cleaning out the inside you might have. Is it safe to use dustoff spray? I though i remembered hearing something like it can damage the parts...
