So I found Digital Storm Online by chance, and I decided I would much rather have their customer support and awesome systems than to try to build my own machine to take with me to college.
![]() Budget: ~$1,800 Expectations: Play games, be awesome and have pretty lights, and be upgradeable. Useage: Lots of gaming, with storage for lots music and movies as well. And, of course word processing and web browsing. Special needs: I'm trying to get something relatively quiet, but not crazy expensive water cooling. I'm fine with air. I'll be ordering this mid-to-late June, so if there will be any new stuff by then. Here's what I'm thinking: 542025 Let me know what I need to know! Should I get the standard red led fan changed for a blue one by DS, or should I do that myself? And also for where else I can get fans equipped on the HAF X? Thanks in advance! |

your config is no geared for best price/performance.
What is the native resolution of the monitor you gonna be gaming at? do you want to be able to do sli? if yes, budget will need to be higher, can't sli for this budget. |

What config would you suggest for me, then?
I will be gaming on a monitor at 1920x1080. I have no wish for sli currently, and if I ever had a need in the future, what would you suggest I change? |

I'm not really that interested in SLI. I'd rather have a single GPU system. Would 542187 be a better setup? I could probably get $2,000.

I've been doing a lot of research, and I think I'm going to go with 543747. The 2600k isn't worth the cost to me, and all I really plan on doing in the future is replacing the video card 2-3 years down the road.
What fan would you say to add to the top? This same one? http://cmstore.coolermaster-usa.com/product_info.php?products_id=553 And what blue fan for the front, instead of the red one? |

Where did you get the idea that the 2600K isn't worth the cost?
the cpu is the brain of your pc, a smarter/faster brain is always a good idea and worth it. also why spend money on a bigger case when you dont' need it but take money away from your brain? for a single card solution I would stick with the haf 922. yes that is the fan for the side of 922 or top of 942. you will have to request this fan for the front, as they no longer make the 230mm: 200mm blue led or if you feel like waiting for them order this: 230mm blue led not oem |
