After reading the post pointing out that my 139 looked low I am moving on to a much higher number.  I am now at 193 X 21 = 4.043 CPU and 193 X 10 = 1930 on my RAM.  I finished a full run of LinX max mem with no errors at this setting.  Now to run Prime95 over night to see if this is a stable OC.

I should have stated that I started a new topic because After I get this 193 X 21 OC stable I will save it to profile then move on to 4.2 and then to 4.4.

 I'm learning as I go.

Why not?  I put all the best stuff DS had into this box.  It now needs to be set free to run wild. Like my grand-paw said, Run with the big dogs or stay on the porch. *smile*

QPI speed looks better, keep pushing!
but yes, wait for prime95 to see. lol
once you get the CPU OC dialed in, then you can work on RAM timings. lol if you really want to spend a ton of time tweaking it.. Big%20Smile

Nicely done, Justin !! Your CPU-Z is showing the same voltage as mine currently shows, since I had to tap up V-core a couple clicks running 24/7 due to the occasional BSOD (inspite of passing LinX and P95). Anyhow, could you please post your BIOS settings since I want to retry my OC and using BCLK rather than all Multiplier to see if I can't find another 100 MHz or so laying around.

Thx .. neilkaz ..

LOL yeah right..
I won't post my BIOS settings, but I will be glad to help others.
You passed 24 hours of prime95 and had BSODs? what type? did you run memtest also?

Thx Justin, when I am back in town full time after Labor Day I'll run memtest and then if OK I will start a new thread if you think I can improve the OC.

Yes, a few months after I passed stability tests, I had two BSOD's that were 101 so I tapped V-core up two clicks and also had one that was 124 so I tapped VTT up two clicks. (Classified MoBo also)

I run an app that is very CPU intensive basically 24/7. The hottest cores temps typically max at 72 or 73C using RealTemp GT.

My current BIOS settings were listed here near the end of Vorlon's first OC thread. http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=11917

If you see anything blatantly wrong please let me know.  thx .. neilkaz ..

nothing looks way off. so after you run memtest, 4.0 or 86 and if all passes, then we can try to squeeze a bit more of of her.

I've not posted anything here for a few days now.  I just can't seem to find BOIS settings that will pass LinX. I'm no where near anything to run Prime95 on.
My quest is on going. I'll keep you posted.

@ Vorlon, if I understand correctly you've passed at 4.0 Ghz but aren't passing LinX at 4.2? Perhaps post relevant BIOS and RAM settings?

@ Justin.. yes please I'd like to squeeze out a bit more with my 980x. I just passed over an hour of memtest 4.0. I hope I ran the test correctly since it only allows for 2MB per test I had to open 3 tests and tell each to run 2047 MB of free RAM but only 2 tests seemed to run, which I guess is expected since while I have 6MB RAM, obviously not all of it is free.

Anyhow, I'll start a new thread in about 10 days when my current 24/7 task is finished since I don't want to delay it a few days for multiple overnight P95 runs.

Good luck, Vorlon..  neilkaz ..
