I would have gotten windows premium, and the HAF case, since cosmos s touch sensor is a crapshoot and its lot more expensive
I also would have gone with OCZ 1333MHz. let us know what your OC speed will be, so far highest stable we have seen has been 3.6GHz with liquid cooling. overall no matter what nice build and sure did buy it from the right place. |

Youll really like the GTX 280, for all its bashing due to its value vs dollar ratio it still is the best single PCI slot card you can get minus the X2s of course.
I assume youll be adding a hard drive later or one from an older computer, because that 150Gb is gonna be gone faster then you know it. Games these days are approching the 20GB + ranges.

I suggest you go for liquid cooling. Stage 3 cooling is very, very loud.
Also, I would switch to the OCZ RAM. While it does run slightly hotter than Corsair, it compensates by running faster.

No matter what you get, I'd suggest asking DSO to add on a Corsair DOMINATOR RAM cooling kit. I think it will only set you back at most $30, and looks really nice. Oh yeah, it help keeps your RAM cooler too.
Thanks for adding Zeluke. Welcome to DSO. |

Jl you mean fist ask them to change the ram to OCZ then request the fan for the ram which should be about $25

Damn they glue it in place for the ram fan. Might have to pass on that. Anyways I will be getting liquid cool for the cpu to overclock. And I am not overclocking anything else. NEW specs after I tlak to them. Any ideas on RAID. Would like to finalize my new house(DS RIG) today over the phone.
Hopefully my new build.

Hi Zeluke, if you like the RPG's will you be getting Fallout 3 at the end of this month? That system will make it look amazing.
I downloaded the Qarl Texture pack for Oblivion last night and with my new rig it looks fantastic and that was using a 260. If you like Oblivion get that texture pack and you will just want to run around the hills, it is very very purty.

Zeluke 8GB for you is a totall waste, if you remove 4GB out of that pc you will never notice it. thats too much money to pay for something you will never use.
its like you getting a 1200w with that system. |

Well its your system, but I just don't understand what is the point of having it, if you will never use it, your system will never use it.
if they shipped it to you with 4GB of ram you would never know the difference. I mean if you want to throw away money at-least put it toward something you can use like a higher processor, at-least that way you would have used the speed. I want you to know that I do recommend 8GB to certain people that will use it, I like 8GB myself, but only when its needed, otherwise money is better spent on CPU then 8GB of ram. but its your PC so you do what you like, I just want to make sure you understand clearly what I'm saying. Okay you win. They were out of stock of the ram. So I got 4 gigs of ocz1600 which saved me enough to add liquid cooling on my cpu which I did really want for furture use.
That and even with my AC going Denver is still hot in the summer. Not sure how people game in the lower states...Even with AC, damn it is hot as hell.

Match your ram speed to your FSB unless you already know how to OC yourself.
I just want you to get the fastest PC you can with your money, no point on getting stuff that will make no difference, better spend that money on things you will use. liquid cooling is a great idea and well worth the money and will get you faster speeds |

Problem is they had no more in stock. But I will over clock it all in the future. One Reason I got the cooling. I just want to use the system with no overclocking for now. But you are right. Overall now... I am happy and can not wait for the system to show up.
P.S. Thank again for all your help. And I am glad I found this website and company. Great help all the way.
Final stats I think.

looks like a very nice rig.FYI the HAF case dosent realy come stage 3 stock.i comes with a 10" fan mounted on the door that spins at around 500rpm.it vents more than anything.when you get the DSO stage 3 option, the fan is removed and you get x4 zalman fans installed. each running close to 1900rpm 4x faster than the stock one.if u are worried about sound you can request that the silicon pins and the noiseless connector be installed as well ,this will reduce each fan speed to 900rpm and noise, but will still be a big differance over the stock fan.

DS-HAi you are wrong about the HAF case not being at stage 3, stock it comes with 3 x 230mm fans and 1 x 140mm
the 230mm fans run at: Front : 230x30mm red LED fan x 1,700 R.P.M, 19 dBA Side: 230x30mm standard fan x 1,700rpm, 19dBA Top: 230x30mm standard fan x 1, 700 R.P.M, 19dBA now correct if I'm wrong but 1900rpm is not 4x faster than 1700rpm. not to mention how loud 4 fans at 1900rpm would be, not to mention the fact that the cpu is liquid cooled I suggest you read up on the case welcome aboard Edited by DST4ME - 07 Oct 2008 at 6:16am |

ok i might have been off on the the speed of the door fan.but i know that it dose not come stage 3 stock.at least not to DS standards .when you chose the stage 3 option for the haf case we add x4 zalmans to the case.that stock door fan is good if you are not doing water cooing .it doesn't do any thing for the heat that the water cooling will be spreading.water cooling doesn't cool down your cpu it just spreads out the heat better .like threw the tubing ,rad and were ever else the tubes are running.im at digital storm all day building these rigs and i know that that 1 fan sucks compared to 4 zalmans.

I seen the air-flow boost by using four faster 120mm fans.

dissipation heat dose not mean cooling down or lowering.
dis·si·pate: to break up and scatter or vanish
in this case it dose not vanish it just scatters away from the cpu.
the case fan and rad is not like a car radiator and fan.the air flow to radiator mass is mutch greater than a 120 fan and rad. you keep talking about the sound of the fans ..it is not that loud .if tht is such a big issue than there is the option of installing the inline resistors that lower the sound to the point that you dont hear any thing ;still producing more air flow than the single stock fan.
and for your comment "not all time do 4 fans blow more air then one "
you said it your self and i quote "Nobody doubts that 4 120mm fans blow more air"...
with all due repect . how can you be arguing when you dont even have a DS rig your self? and being a member of this forum for more than a year now.?we havent even built you one.

i reamember that rig it was an 850 .like i said if the sound of the fans are an issue the in line resistors can be installed wich they were in this case and the sound was significantly reduced, the only thing you could hear were the hdd and opticle drives after they were installed.there are ways of dealing with sound.
i cant argue what alex said .just spoke to him ,he did say that ,since then all haf cases that are upgraded to stage3 have the stock fan removed and have 4 zalmans installed. i guess management realized that the stock door fan just wasnt cutting it.
i take that back. your right. having a DS rig dosent have anything to do with knowing about OC, LC, Ram, HDD, Raid, GPU . unfortunately i dont have a ds rig. fortunately i am knowledgable enough to know how to build my own.
you were saying that i dont know how many fans are in the haf case?
were did you get; quote "it already can fit 7 fans, has 2 x 200mm and a few smaller ones".
the haf has-
Front: 230 x 30 mm red LED fan
Side: 230 x 30 mm standard fan
Top: 230 x 30 mm standard fan
Rear: 140 x 25 mm standard fan
im not sure but i think that is 4, if you are talking about how many it can fit
you could put 2 on the top,2 in the front ,4 on the door and one on the back
now i might be wrong ..dont take my word on it but 2+2+4+1=9. you can seek a second opinion on it if you wish.
as for your remark" I have been dealing with PCs since you were a glance in your father's eyes" ; i dont doubt it you seem like you know comps .like thay say ,you cant teach an old dog new tricks. i guess your just stuck in old ways.let me remind you we are not building dinosaurs we are building much more advanced systems with alot more air flow in mind.a little more air flow never hurt any system is all im saying.
just a little test for you if you ever get a chance to get a system built in a haf case using only the stock ;in your opinion stage 3 fans.open the door and put your hand in the middle .i bet you wont feel any noticable moving air. then compare it to a DS system built with the digital storm stage 3 fan option.
you seem.... like you know a lot about computers.im starting to think thats all you learned.looks like you missed first grade mathematics.
it dosent take a rocket scientist or a nobel prize winning math mathematician to know that 4 120 fans running at 1900 rpm each creates more air flow than 1 230 running at what ? 17k if you want to be exact. i think thats a givin.
every one is entitled to there own opinion .not every one is always right
i could go on for days .but unfortunately not every one has as much free time on there hands as you.im not going to argue with some one who is as close minded as you.especially on some thing like adding more fans for better air flow.

I never said more fans don't mean more air.
