I just purchased a very nice Krypton laptop. I've been playing around with the configuration, and I'm happy to be able to adjust all sorts of lighting, including the LEDs underneath the power button.
But there is one set of lights that I cannot figure out how to control, and those are the blue "equalizer" lights that flash whenever the laptop is playing sound. I don't care about changing color. I want to be able to shut them off. Having flashing blue lights below your streaming Netflix movie is distracting. Does anyone know how to shut these lights off? |

I don't think they can be shut off. Others on laptop forums have complained about it.
Just to check, there is the Sound Blaster X-Fi drivers on the disc that need installing. Then the EQ module allow adjustments but not to shut off. Sounds like you did that but just mentioning it. |

Thanks for mentioning I needed to load up the soundblaster drivers. That's something that I thought would have been pre-installed, but I see that they were not.
I can live with the flashing lights, as they disappear if I pipe the sound to some other device. |

Yes, I've not been able to turn off the EQ lights either. Would be nice to change the color at the very least, to match the other colors I've set.

You might find the drivers for the touchpad and hotkeys also need installing. Gives you added options.
Those flashing sound bar lights have given others another excuse to use duct tape. Enjoy. |

OK, this is weird.
The "EQ" lights don't flash any more. But neither does Windows detect that I have headphones plugged in. Has anyone encountered a state like this with their sound setup? Headphones were working last night, and I don't think I changed anything. I can still play sound, through speakers or HDMI or Bluetooth, etc. I just can't play through headphones, as they aren't detected. Interestingly the RealTek program detects that I've plugged in the phones, but Windows doesn't (so I can't set them to be the default sound device). |

Try going into your Hotkey control panel, the drivers might need installing, and set headphones to direct under Gaming. I believe Roykirk brought this up in another post. There might be a conflict with SB and Realtek.

"Headphones to direct" That worked! :) And the equalizer lights are still off. I'll post here if I figure out what turned them off. I suspect that you're right w/r to the SB/Realtek conflict. |

Good to hear your headphones are up and running.
If you figure out the EQ lighting then let us know. As long as nothing else is missing, people will pay for that info. Those lights are a love/hate relationship. |

R'Amen. Sometimes only one side of the lights work for me. Can't find any consistency. Would love to just turn them off and not worry, especially since I can't match the color to my keyboard. |

Well, after restarting, the equalizer lights were on and sound was off. WTF?!
I removed the Creative XFi stuff. Things seem to be working normally now. EQ lights plus sound, headphones work. I posit this as evidence that there exist Creative/Realtek conflicts. |

I held down the fn key today to play around with that alongside other keys and discovered that if you hold down fn and press the - key, it toggles the equalizer lights. I hope that helps regardless of how late I am to the party XD

Hrm, I tried this today. I tried hitting Fn + - key in a couple of different apps that were affecting the equalizer, but it didn't change anything. Perhaps a different version of HotKey? I'm using 1.15.15. |

I'll have to see if I can find that somewhere. Never saw it on Clevo's site with the drivers. |
