Has anyone configured a system for FSX? I think I am going to with the Q9650 and let DS overclock it. Got around 3 grand to play with. Appreciate any suggestions on the other hardware and the processor. Thanks.

seems like the E8xxx chip does better for fsx, but I don't see why the q9650 wouldn't be able to do the same, since the oc speeds should be around the same.

FSX is an awesome game. im sure you will have no problem running it on either of those.

and my 2 cents on your build. get a Velociraptor. There FAST.

very good but the veloci raptor needs to be HDD1 and the 500GB needs to be HDD2.

call them first thing and make sure they make that change

Dead
You are going to be very happy with that system.

I agree with DST that you will want to put the Velociraptor as your OS Drive. There will be plenty of room left over to load FSX, any and all add-ons and a pile of other games if you want.

The 500GB will be best used for file storage and games/programs that don't depend as much on hard drive performance.
