just wantd to give anyone a heads up if your installing gears of war on a pc with nvidia mother board there is a small issue where when you install GOW windows live asks you to download an update when you do the code they use to trigger the update is very close to the bios update code for the motherboard so instead of downloading the update it starts the installed bios update program that comes installed on the DSO pc . after scratching my head at this for a few hours i found the answer in a forum on epics games its pretty simple uninstall the bios update program and thatwill solve the problem . i did it and it works fine .

thx for the update....just now started playing this game, & very impressed w/ the 3rd person gameplay.  I'm a huge FPS fan, but this is a nice change.  I'll be on the lookout for the update error.
