Are there any programs that will allow you toggle the FPS when you are playing games other than using Fraps which is usually inaccurate. I do mean to see FPS in a game and just overlaps whatever you are playing.

MSI Afterburner under the Monitoring tab can be set to display, fps, gpu temp, gpu %speed, etc while in game.
Enjoy. |

Does it lower your FPS if its running? Another thing I am trying out from what people recommended is ESET security, I turn on gamer mode and like 10 seconds later it disables itself. Any ideas?

Not sure about the performance hit with monitoring. I don't think its an issue, IMO.
I don't know ESET. Others do .

I think its pretty easy but then I'm not considered Normal.
Open MSI, hit settings on the bottom, go to Monitoring tab, click the box near the bottom " Show in On Screen Display' and under Graph section click each one you want to monitor until it says "in OSD", On Screen Dislpay, or something like that. In other words, click fps, check the box for Show in On Screen Disply and repeat. That ESET question.... in case DST doesn't come back right away... in Gamer Mode I believe ESET shuts down notifications, etc for a cleaner gaming experience but not sure that's what you meant. Well I guess I am not a retarded as I thought I did all things you said already, I just was not seeing anything on the screen, I am assuming it only shows up when I am in the game? But if I am wanting to see my FPS that means I need to select all 4 GPU's? So it should say in OSD on all 4 GPU power?

As far as the ESET goes the problem is I turn it on and it wont stay on it shuts itself off like 10 seconds after I turn it on

In my case the display is in the upper left, small text. I never had multi gpu so not sure. I wouldn't think it matters since fps is the end result of whatever you're running.
You're keeping MSI running? Not closing or X 'ing it out? |

Ok so the thing I did wrong was I had it showing in the left hand corner showing the power consumption and I wanted Framrates, so I scrolled all the way to the bottom and the Framerates and Frametimes are were grayed out so I had to turn them on now its working right!

Awesome. It does take a little getting use to I guess. Sommetimes I keep hitting buttons until things come together. Must be from my troubleshooting days. That ESET thing... better wait for someone like DST that knows.

MSI Afterburner is the best one, I like the evga one but MSI Afterburner is king in that catagory of watching your gpu temps and etc.
as for checking your fps, not something I have been messing with for years, msi should not bug down your gpu so it should be fine to check fps, but how accurate is it? we don't know either. Now what is the problem with eset? |

When I open ESET, and go into the settings by default the "Gaming Mode" is turned off, If I turn it on and close the window, 10 seconds later it shuts off, if I just minimized the window it does the same, now in the advanced settings I do have the boxes checked where it says if you go full screen mode for something usually games it will turn itself on, but theres no way to visually see if it turns itself on and I have doubts its on just from the experience of when I manually turn it on.

If I'm not mistaken, the ui maybe turned off the Kernel is always running.
sorry for not understanding but are worried that eset is not protecting you when playing games? or is your problem with ui? also do have these set? Edited by DST4ME - 21 Feb 2013 at 12:47pm |

Basically whats happening is when you setup gamer mode in that advanced menu, theres no way to be able to tell if it infact is running, and if you tab out of a game and look at the ESET status it shows gamer mode is off

Open task manager, you should see 2 things for eset:
egui.exe = the ui ekrn.exe = the brain of eset if you will. whether the ui is running or not has no baring on the brian/protection itself. Does that help? if you want to run task manger form a shortcut instead of ctrl/alt/delete then just make short cut and put this in it: C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr.exe or just follow the path to it and right click it in system32 and create shortcut and put that shortcut on the desktop, mine is in my quick launch bar.
