I received my new DS about a month ago.

Core i7 2.6 overclock to 3.6
Dual GTX 275 in SLI
6GBs ram

I was playing Arkham Ayslum a couple hours ago. I have the game on the highest settings.  For the most part the game runs smoothly. On some of the boss scenes the game slows.  Well I had trouble with one of those bosses and kept playing that part over and over to try and beat it.  A few times the screen stalls.  I was able to Ctrl-Alt-Del out and that served to get me back to the in-game menu screen and I could resume from there. The last time it crapped out and i had to restart the computer.

On reload, my screen is garbled going through the bios load before Win 7 starts.  Once in windows my screen resolution is out of whack - 600 x 400, i think.  I check the device manager and both video cards have been "stopped" by windows.  I think the message said "this device was stopped by windows because it has reported problems (Code 43)".  I tried disabling and enabling the cards.  I noticed that one card (the secondary card) came back on but the first was still not working.  So i tried the following:

1. removed the bridge and restarted the computer - same result as described above

2. removed the secondary card (the one that showed fine in the device manager) and kept the orginal one and restarted the computer - same result as described above

3. removed the primary card and only had the secondary in the computer.  The computer loads and displays as normal

So, this is my question.  Did i fry the other video card?  Was it a matter of overheating and something broke inside?  You know that these cards take up two bay windows so in the computer they are side by side tight, probably only 1/4 centimeter between them.  To me, the fan for the primary card would presumably have difficulty pulling air through because the other card was right on top of it.  Not sure if this is it but thought i'd bring it up in case others with dual cards put the video cards in the 1st and 3rd slot instead of the 1st and 2nd slot.

I'll call tech support on Monday but was curious if anyone here might know what happened.  In the meantime, i think i'll take a break from playing batman.  It's ashame though, because i thought my setup would be able to run that game at the highest settings with no issue.

Thanks

try uninstalling and reinstalling your drivers, one of your cards may have gone bad, its covered under warranty.

this is not normal and your card should be able to handle the games you throw at it.
