We're hardly pros here, just gamers that have been doing it awhile and get our jollies helping others with our terrific hobby!

Need to know what monitor resolution you want to set up for. I highly recommend 1080p at high frame rates. You will be well satisfied with the results you get at reasonable cost. If you get, say a 144Hz monitor, you'll want to look seriously at a GTX 1660 Ti and up to a 2060 SUPER.

I would game on your 8GB of RAM until it chokes on something. Not likely to happen soon, but it could. Then upgrade to 2 8GB sticks of DDR4 2666.

You won't really need much else. Eventually you will probably want more fast storage, but games load fine from an HDD IMO.

Nvidia is coming with a new line of GPUs in September, but they usually release the top 3 cards and then release the rest later. At 1080p you can get really good performance right now.
