So recently I got a Vanquish 4 level 1 and it came with an i5 processor and a GTX 950. I'm currently very happy with it and I plan to have it for quite a while. But I like to plan ahead so I would like to get prepared for when I have the funds to upgrade to a even more beastly graphics card, the 970. I wanted to know if I needed to upgrade my air cooling (note that it is a vanquish 4 level 1). I am also under the impression from looking it up online that the PSU should be handle to handle the 970 as I'm not wanting to spend extra money to upgrade it if it will work as is. If I do need to upgrade my air cooling in order to keep the 970 at a safe temperature then what do you suggest? It can be a personal suggestion or if you can tell me what the difference between the level 1 case and the level 3 case's cooling is that'd also be helpful. Thanks!

There is no difference in case cooling between the different level Vanquish builds. The level 3 does have a better CPU cooler but that won't make any difference with the gtx 970 upgrade. The 500 watt psu is the minimum and might be good with the rest of your build.
Gtx 970 upgrade would be a big performance increase. |

Cool, all I'll need to upgrade is the card. That makes it a lot easier and inexpensive for me. Thanks again!

Lots of 970 to pick from. I have the MSI 970 gamer 4g and it is quiet with fans on and the fans stays off until needed, about 64c. Just an example.

Hi Acecateer,
I have the MSI 980 gamer 4g with TWIN FROZR V cooling. This is a really quite GPU with good performance. I was gaming one day and after I got through I checked with HWMonitor for temps. I noticed that my GPU fans had been running and I never heard them come on. I bought mine over the holidays for $378 including a $30 rebate and a free game. So keep your eye out for deals. Especially as we get close to the new releases. Frank |

Same here, Frank. Never hear the fans come on. Used to bend down and look up at the fans just to make sure.
MSI makes a nice card. |
