Hello All,
I will be ordering a new gaming rig with the next 3 months, I currently game on a 2 year-old Asus laptop and my wife uses a 4 year-old Alienware desktop.  The computer will only be for gaming nothing else.  I only plan on having the new Total War Shogun 2 and either Rift (depending how it pans out) or World of Warcraft.  I plan to game on 1920x1080 Monitor.  I have underlined some parts of the build that I am questioning of whether its really needed or not.

Specifications:

Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master HAF 932

Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core)

Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 (Intel P67 Chipset) (Features USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gb/s)

System Memory: 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested)

Power Supply: 750W Corsair TX (Dual SLI Compatible)

Expansion Bay: - No Thanks

Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (1TB Hitachi/Seagate (7200 RPM) (32MB Cache) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks

Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks

Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc: - No Thanks

Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x)

Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks

Internet Access: !PROMOTION: Killer 2100 (Optimized for Online Gaming) Lag and Latency Reduction - Any real improvment for the cost?

Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB (Includes PhysX Technology)

Add-on Card: - No Thanks

Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio

Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 1: Noctua NH-U12P SE Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler H20 - Would one of the cheaper ones do just as good a job? I dont want to skimp on cooling.

Tube Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected

Chassis Airflow: Upgrade Chassis With Zalman Performance Fans (Up to 6 Fans) - does this upgrade see any improvement in cooling?

You can do away with the killer 2100 NIC card......the increase it gives is laughable for the cost....there is free software you can download that can help you out.....air cooler is good choice....if you don't plan on overclocking then a smaller cooler might be ok for you....but since you chose the 2600k...it would be a travesty not to OC that thing....so keep the cooler.....

as for the fans....I have no clue.....coolermaster makes really great cases so the airflow you get by default is already pretty good.......but that is really your choice...not really sure what DS does with that....it says UP to 6 FANS.....if they put in 6 fans that means 1 or more of the larger default fans will be replaced with smaller fans that will have to run at a higher RPM to compensate for the size difference. higher RPM equates to more noise.

if the games you use don't need much vram, you can go with a 560 and save some money, if more gpu power is needed you can oc a 560 can pretty much 570 performance.

Thanks DST, I dont think I am going to go SLI anytime soon as the MMO world doesn't look like its headed that direction.  I have the cash to get the 570 now so I figured that card would last me for quite some time before I need to look for upgrades, what are your thoughts?

Best bet if you're looking to future proof your system is to save money now and put it towards a new GPU in a year or two. At least for MMO's.
