Hi there, not sure where to post but here it goes.
I'm hoping to start developing indie games as soon as a get out of my military schooling. Also I am very interested in building indie MMO's. I have no idea what kind of demands this puts on a computer and was wondering if the fine folks here would recommend a system. Also any other equipment I might need. Since I'm plunging head first into game development alone, I would need a rig that is capable of all aspects of design, the skills to use it are up to me though. I bought a computer from DS before and was completely blown away by the system. Budget: 5,000 US dollars |

I'm not familiar but you sound like a candidate for a workstation platform, and nvidia quadro.

Would anyone care to elaborate on the main differences that separate a gaming PC from a workstation?

Quadro gpus are geared more toward design and development apps than geforce gpus that we game with. I'm not a big expert in this area so I don't really have details for you.
