    Posted: 28 Apr 2011 at 8:20am
I am budgeting approximately $5,000 or less.

I would like a Gaming PC that will keep up for the next couple of years for a diverse set of games with a few tweaks for fun. I plan on starting with a 27' Monitor at 1900x1200 res.

I want to play WoW, SCII, Total War series, COD series and similar shooters.

Ticket # 531289

I would like to include their Frost Chill technology for the LCS. Do they offer / recommend memory overclocking if so what is the cost / gain? For their GPU OC, is it better to OC the standard 580 or the EVGA 580? I was thinking just opting the extra $300 for the GTX 580's vs the 570's incase i upgrade monitors or games in the future. I am deployed to Afghanistan, my responses may be delayed.

I plan on ordering this week. Thanks for the comments.

Don't oc the memory, it can cause lot of problems.

As I mentioned before in the other thread, the OC on the gpu here is so mild that you won't notice it, also at your res and sli 570/580 you wouldn't notice a difference from a good oc anyways.

at your res sli 570 and 580 are the same.

I would change your build to:

Ticket Number: 531839

if you want to keep the sli 580 and that is what you like go ahead, if you are doing that due to possible higher res in the near future, than keep in mind, if you want high aa settings you need more vram, thus the 6970 will do better with high aa at 2560 x 1600.

also keep in mind that system can't do tri sli/cf.

Thanks DST4ME I know I have asked a lot of questions, some redundant others just stupid, but I have appreciated the help. I went with your advice and ordered that build yesterday. Hopefully the administrative processing goes smoothly, it can be difficult to coordinate from overseas. I cannot wait to get back from deployment and get it up and running. Thanks again gents.
