    Posted: 27 Mar 2010 at 7:42pm

Hello all,

I've been looking for a new computer for awhile and have waited for my savings to match my desires =).   4k max for the build at 1900x1200 gaming (dell 2410 primary and dell 2405pw as browsing monitor in dual monitor config). Going with ATI because I can't justify the 480 price.  So thoughts on this build?

depending on what games you play all you might need is a 470 for a lower price, but as far as your build goes before I change the things that needs to be changed around, why the raid on 160GB? a single one would will be more then plenty for your use.

Really dislike the idea of running out of space for the OS, games and work software.  If the footprint for Win 7 is small enough then I have no problem going with just one 160.  Normally I use the comp for MMORPG's but occasionally play the FPS that tends to bog the system down.  Thanks for your help!

well if you think that you need more room teh go ahead with raid, the corsair 256 is not as fast but still its very fast, so maybe that might be a single hdd solution, but is upto you, just to give you an idea of price difference:

Here you go Ticket# 395617 --- Price: $3055 (To see this build click here) Price after current promotion $3055

based on your build, this is what you want, if you still want the intel raid then you have to go ever to balckops, then the price jumps $250 for the same build, then you throw in the raid intel and price will be $3800 (ticket number 395619)

Hadn't considered the single 256 and I like 1k less for very similar performance.  Thanks and will pull the trigger next week!

keep in mind the system will give you exact performance but as for ssd speed the corsair is not as fast as the intel, intel is very fast at 4k, but corsair is not slow itself by any means, its one of the top 3 ssds if IMO.

Three Intel 80GBs installed reserved around 7% for themselves leaving me with a 223GB capacity. A fresh Windows 7 Professional install then took about 12GB of space, leaving me with 211GB to play with for applications and games.

In case that helps any.
