Looks good but I do however highly recommend a quad core for MMO & RTS gaming.

yea, thats one thing I wasn't so sure about, I wasn't sure how much it would matter and/or effect the psu selection

I'd swap to an Antec 900, use 1066Mhz RAM, and bump the HDD up to 500GB.
The case and RAM will get you more overclocking headroom, and the additional HDD capacity is relatively cheap. Given the ever increasing size of games, and the low cost per GB, I think that's a solid suggestion. Otherwise, I will point out that the stability testing DSO can do without an OS installed is limited, but if you already have a retail copy of Windows, no point in paying twice.
On the quad core, yes, for MMO's it's a good idea. It should not effect your PSU selection, a 750W PSU is enough to go SLI later whether you have a quad or dual core installed. Edited by Tyler Lowe - 12 Aug 2008 at 1:43am |

Abeezy, I put together this build for a good build with power to spare in your price range and ability to toss in a second ATI card in crossfire later when you find you need the oomph for games a bit down the road.
http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadsaved.asp?id=174447 I upped the proceesor to a quad core (If you have the spare cash, you could get the processor overclocked if you are comfortable with that) I also upped the HDD to 500 Gigs and dropped memory to 2 gigs of 1066 mghz memory. Just my thoughts based on your build. Regards, Dave Edited by Kliebor2 - 12 Aug 2008 at 7:09am |
