Budget:$3000 (+/- $500 depending on if upgrading would really have a noticeable benefit)
Going for a laptop so no need for monitor and already have a mouse for it. Mainly gaming and then just everyday use (news, videos, etc.). I already have a work laptop so this will be at a desk nearly all the time so size isn't a real issue. Would like a config option that is also quieter so would prefer SSD as the main drive at least. Ideally I'd like a moderate to high powered gaming laptop that will be good for hopefully at least 2 years. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Checkout this 17" gaming laptop for $2,500: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/gaminglaptoploadx17.asp?id=683557
It really depends on your needs such as if you want a 15" or 17", but overall for that much money, you can basically buy a flag ship unit complete will full upgrades on everything.

I think in one of the bigger posts here it says that anything over 8gb/12gb RAM isn't to necessary for gaming so before I make the purchase just wanted to know if it is recommended to go up to 16gb RAM like what's on your config. there.
Thanks in advance for any help. |

For gaming strictly, 8gb is enough for any game out currently in the market. I do heavy photo editing with adobe PS/LR so it's more beneficial for me and for others who render/edit videos and whatnot. But it never hurts to have more
