Gaming Laptop on A Budget

I am looking to purchase a new laptop and have budget of about $1500 to spend. I am looking for it to be lightweight and portable, but powerful enough to run modern games at decent settigns. I would also be using this for college/web browsing and gaming (about 50/50) This is what I came up with, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have the wrong idea about how the SSD space on the hybrid drive is used. You can't specify what you want to put 4GB of SSD space, it isn't used for storage, it's used for a cache for the HDD.

This won't really have a benefit when you first open things, but if you were to say access some data you had worked with recently, and assuming it was still on the SSD cache, it could be opened much faster subsequent times. Also this can help with write speeds. Say something was going to write a bunch of 4kb files, which a conventional HDD is garbage at but a SSD excels at, it would just quickly write and store the data to the SSD cache and then the cache would work at writing the info to the HDD while you've already moved on to other things.

However in practice this is implemented badly and the hybrid drive is usually not worth the price. For a desktop it's completely pointless, when you could make much better use of your money to just get a small to moderate sized SSD for OS/apps alongside a HDD for media. For laptops it can have some merit if you do not have the option of having two storage drives, but even then the price is pretty "eh".
