Hi all, I've been gaming for quite a few years now started out with Delta force and was hooked ever since with the 1st person shooter games.
From there Unreal tournament, all COD only upto COD UO cant play COD 4 becuase my PC has aged and need new gaming PC.
I want to play COD 4 and Crysis awesome games which I havent played yet.
I have an Emachine T3265 I bought at best buy and from the start it was all trouble, almost lost all my money on a PC that wasnt even a month old all becuase they claimed I did something with the BIOS but I only did what the tech help person told me to do over the phone and what a nightmare! It took almost 3 months after finally reaching someone in the corporate office for them to realize it wasnt my fualt! Finally they gave me a new PC. Well its time to buy a new PC and wont even dare buy from them again! There Horrible!
I looked at alienware,Cybor power, ABS, Micro velocity and came across Digital storm on a search...
I really liked the the Best Bang for the Buck model valued right now at $2032 without doing any customizing.
I like games like COD4 and Crysis what do you think I can improve on this model
without really going crazy. My limit is $2500
Harddrive ? comes with 320gb... upgrade?
system memory 2GB ddr 800mhz... upgrade to 4GB?
Im no PC wiz , I have altec lansing speakers and looking at the acer 22" monitor from the sight since my monitor isnt working properly.
I really want a nice system from a from digital storm since so far what I have read etc... looks good to purchase a new PC.
I would appreciate any input from anyone what they think of the best bang for the buck $2032 model and where I might wanna customize something to maybe improve gameplay etc... Its gonna kill to spend that kind of money now a days but Im addicted to online gaming, LOL... need my fix everyday if ya know what i mean.... Thank you all for reading post!

that config gets your on the right track, it depends a lot on your budget and your needs

here is a good readme to get you started

here is a good start on a config in your price range, i feel it would be worth looking into the 2 new cards from nvidia and the radeon cards too. worth the increase in cost

what are your thoughts on overclocking? what else do you do besides game?

DarkEyes, if you are going for just gaming and want alot of bang for your buck and a limit of 2500 including the 22" Acer Monitor here is where I would go:

  http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadsaved.asp?id=161938

That link tweaks the heck out of that base spec, main mods, set you up with a faster dual core which right now is better for gaming FPS, stayed with the 9800 GTX because of your budget, it is a great card even with the new 280 smacking it around like the smaller kid on the playground.

Upped the memory to 1066 SLI ready memory, and then to make sure you get every iota of performance I added overclocking across the boards.

That should be a very sweet machine and is what I would buy with your budget.

Regards,

Dave

Thanks for the information
I use the PC for normal use and keep it simple.
Like I said before no PC wiz and not looking to build a space shuttle to fly to the moon if ya know what I mean.
Just your average Joe and stay away from dangerous websites and stay away from downloading as much as possible that got me in trouble in the beginning
when I 1st got my new computer which was a PRO SPEC forget which model but that PC CRASHED due to viruses somehow I aquired and at the time did not have any virus protection. Learned the hardway. 2nd PC is a T3265 emachine which I'm using now and its about I would say over 4yrs old.
The only thing I added to it was a geforce 6200 128MB card.
I would say I spend 95% of the time only on online gaming.
Here are the games I bought and played , Delta force, Quake --> loved the graphics at the time awesome same with unreal tournament, Ghost Recon even hooked me even further to the 1st person shooter at the time, then came Call Of Duty! WOW its was one of my Favorite games to play! I played world of war craft for a very short time but was kind of lost of what I was supposed to do.
Im slowly been trying to get into more of role playing games like Rome total war but its an old game.
I also Play chess with Fritz chess and also like Holdem poker. I have world poker tournament but cant play it becuase you need windows Vista now to play alot of these new games and better Hardware and software, thats why I need to upgrade and keep this PC for simple stuff and the new PC for strictly online gaming only.
Thanks for the help and if anyone else would like to comment I would appreciate it as well! Smile
