Welcome to DS. The configuration gurus will need to know at what resolution you plan to be gaming. There are very different components that either not work or be way overkill depending on the monitor(s) that will be used. Enjoy. ![]() |

Well, I hope you're going to be delighted that you don't need to spend all that on a high-performance rig here these days with the discounts they have going on and free shipping. I'll give you all you need, and you can see what you think.
Try this, I'll edit the copy to make it easier to read: Digital Storm Desktop - Config ID 3040241 $3,170.00 $3,170.00 System Configuration: Chassis Model: Digital Storm Lumos Processor: Intel Core i9-9900K (5.0 GHz Turbo) (16-Thread) (8-Core) 3.6 GHz Motherboard: MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON AC (Wi-Fi) (Intel Z390 Chipset) (Up to 3x PCI-E Devices) System Memory: 32GB DDR4 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (RGB Light Bar) Power Supply: 850W Corsair / EVGA / Thermaltake (Modular) (80 Plus Gold) Storage Set 1: 1x SSD M.2 (512GB Samsung 970 PRO) (NVM Express) Storage Set 2: 1x SSD M.2 (1TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS) (NVM Express) Storage Set 3: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Graphics Card(s): 1x GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8GB (VR Ready) Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Digital Storm Vortex Liquid CPU Cooler (Dual Fan) (Fully Sealed + No Maintenance) Cable Management: Premium Cable Management (Strategically Routed & Organized for Airflow) Chassis Fans: Corsair LL Series (RGB Fans) (Software Controlled Effects) Internal Lighting: Remote Controlled Advanced LED Lighting System (Multiple RGB Color Modes) CPU Boost: Stage 1: Overclock CPU - Up to 4.7GHz on All CPU Cores Graphics: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video cards Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: USB Drive - Windows 10 Installation (Format and Clean Install) Virus Protection: Windows Defender Antivirus (Built-in to Windows 10) Priority Build: - No Thanks, 6 Week Ship Estimate After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty (3 Year Labor & 1 Year Part Replacement) 119591 -- PROMOTIONAL LIMITED TIME BONUS DISCOUNT: $300 This comes in at $2870 after discount. #1 gaming processor; very strong mobo with built-in Wi-FI; 32GB of premium RAM which is all you will ever need for gaming; plenty of power supply. TWO NVMe SSDs for super fast reponse in everything you do. One lean and mean primary drive for OS, apps, and maintenance software that will allow for all those annoying system scans in just seconds. A 1TB for all your games. You could opt for a mechanical HDD for more storage, but I think you might want a SATA SSD later on when you need more. Don't get one now, by the time you need one, it will be faster and cheaper. It's an easy DIY upgrade. The RTX 2060 SUPER is a great choice for your monitor. The budget allows for more, but in six months, Nvidia will be out with a whole new generation of cards. If we don't overspend now, you will be in great position to consider upgrading your monitor and GPU later. If you don't want to upgrade the monitor, you can stand pat just fine. The DS all-in-one CPU cooler is all you need. I will never recommend custom liquid cooling as I think of it as a potential accident waiting to happen, and at least a maintenance hassle for very little gain. Not worth the money IMO. Corsair LL Series case fans for cooling and bling factor in that great showcase chassis. Best part is you can download iCue software from Corsair and control the colors and the fan speed. Internal light strip...free.
I prefer the mild overclock not just because it's free, but this chip and the 9700k are so darn fast already.... Don't overclock the GPU. You can step up to Win 10 Pro. (I didn't.) You can pay to extend the warranty. I've had three DS rigs without a single issue. What do you think? Edited by Cretae - 29 Apr 2020 at 5:56am |
