im wanting to get a new pc from digital storm but kinda wondering what the difference would be performance wise and the price difference here is what i have got so far through various sites let me know if u have a better suggestion or a better deal for any of the following and the games im going to play are basically any i dont have a specific game i want to play really there are a bunch and i want to be able to run like any game on decent settings i dont really have a budget but dont want to spend a lot really

Cooler Master HAF 932 No Power Supply      139.77
Motherboard? i dont know what one to get i was thinking like a EVGA X58 3 way but dont know if i need it or should get like the 4 way and so i can upgrade later
Intel i7 930         288.88
Corsair CMX6GC3M3A1600C9 6GB PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600) Triple Channel Memory 154.99
coolmax RM-1000B 1000W 120mm Fan Power Supply or XION Power Real 1000W ATX PSU 99.99
Kingston SNV425-S2/128GB 2.5" SATA II Internal SSD    254.99
Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green Hard Drive 1.5TB 3.5" SATA 3G 32MB 79.99
LG Black 10X Blu-Ray Burner       149.99
PNY GeForce GTX 480 1536MB       489.89
Add-On Card i dont know if these do anything really that i need if so let me know
Sound Card i dont know if i should get one of these either are the onboard better then most cheap ones? i will get one if they do make a difference but dont want to blow money on it if its really not need
Windows 7 Home should i get pro or ultimate what are the differences?  74.98 Home 137.99 for Pro 114.96 for Ultimate i have a copy of windows XP i could use that? or dual boot windows 7 with windows XP then i dont need Pro i think?
Acer P244WBD 24" Widescreen Monitor - 1080p, 1920x1080, 2ms, 20000:1 Dynamic, 60Hz, Black,(Refurbished) 169.97 dont know how good this one is if there are better let me know also what res is best for gaming 1920 x 1080?
Speakers? these are basically extras unless there is a good deal on them somewhere because i have a pair on Tritton AX Pros and as long as my onboard sound or if i get a sound card has optical i can use them
Mouse? im thinking Razer Mamba heard great things also a big fan of logitech tho might go G9 any suggestions? Mamba 111.30 G9 46.99
Keyboard? i have a original G15 with 18 programable keys and i really like it some keys r getting lose though if something has that many keys or at least 6 in 2 rows of 3 right like it had id like that but if not this also is needed
Surge Protector? i have some already on the walls and a few strips already but are kind of old should i get new ones? if so what ones?

for all of this so far is at least 1950.43 thats with all of the cheapest things i listed also i should mention even tho i wanting to make a fairly cheap pc i want to be able to upgrade it without need a new mobo and stuff for awhile

i found that you can save 200 to 500 bucks by building your self. thats with out shipping. but, if you drop the fan on a AMD 955 like i did, they you have to buy another, but if DS drops the fan, they pay for it, or if your OC blows up your computer, they pay for it. that means that a warrenty is worth the extra 200/500 bucks.

and thank god the 18 inch drop onto the 955 did not dammage it. i mean it was a corner fin to the center of the cpu. the one fin is bent, no more building computers when 4 dogs are running arround like idots wanting to go outside and play!!!

OK this is going to be tough to answer because there are so many questions on top of questions, but lets see what happens:

-you asked about the difference performance wise... well, that depends on how good you are. when i first found dso's site, i didnt know anything about building a computer, i did research for months before buying on how to pick, manage, assemble parts, overclocking, temp, etc. there is a lot that goes into building a gaming machine, its a lot more that just a "pc" and DSO's advantage over you is that they have a minimum of one person that is a professional expert in each field, and they all apply that knowledge to your build, your comp's contruction, and supporting you after you buy

you said you dont really have a budget, thats a tough concept to work with, so initially i will stay close to the price you had listed at the bottom:

i deleted out stuff that didnt apply:

Compared to what you said, 1950, this is $198 more, you give up the SSD (which i think is a waste unless you have money to burn for now. and you give up 500gigs of space
I must be more spartan than I thought but I couldnt imagine ever filling that up

You asked about the Mobo, thats honestly my weakest area, i know that it comes down to if you are going to overclock, how much you want to plug in to your comp, and upgradibility. IMO, i hate the idea of an "upgradable" pc, especially in the budget area. for me, what works is to buy a good pc when the market is right, seal up the case for 3-4 years, then sell it and buy a completely new one. I personally feel that upgrading over time is a money pit, but thats me. So to answer which mobo you want, you need to answer the questions up there^

-do you "need" a soundcard, no. the onboard ones are better by the day, unless you have extra money to spend, this is not needed. the current state of processors is not one that needs you to lighten the load of audio by handling it off board

-windows 7 pro is what everyone keeps saying for gamers, i guess becuase its backwards compatible, and any real gamer loves to bust out the old games some times. with pro there is no purpose in dual booting. you could use xp but that would be kinda like putting plastic rims on a lexus imo.

-there isnt really a resolution you "need" for gaming, i change my resolution to meet the game. the upcoming gen of gamers seem to think that its all about maxing out the options and trying to get smooth frames, i dont personally understand that.
the specs on that monitor arent great, i prefer something over 60hz, there are several cheap options on newegg.com, check out monitors > led > 70+hz > and sort by best ratings, most will likely land you around 1920x1080 and that is perfectly good for gaming today, possibly overkill.

-again oldschool but i never play games without headphones on, im not the person to ask about speakers. but you should check out the roccat kave headphones, amazing quality for all your gaming needs

-mouse is 100% preference. not sure about other places but best buy let me return keyboards that i didnt like, full cash back within 30 days, check out a few and see what you like. make sure you ask about the return policy. If youre a serious loser like me, check out the roccat kone, it has pretty colors and you can change the weight, macro all the buttons, its good stuff.

-keyboard is all what you like, there is no good or bad, just be careful about ghosting / key limit. i tried a g18 and it didnt allow more than 4 keys at once, it went RIGHT back to the store

-surge protection, ask dso or someone else on the forums, i use an APC battery backup, works great for me, but i dont know anything about the specs

-------------------
now, to make this even longer if thats possible, you said you didnt have a budget, so i thought for fun we would make you a stronger dso system, see what you thought

Warranty: 3 Year Platinum Care Extended Parts & Labor Warranty

this has all your choices again, short the ssd, you still have a TB which is an insane amout of space, and you can always add more if you want. price on this comes to 2653 and thats with a good looking, custom built tower, and 3 years parts and labor on an overclocked system. if you run strong for 2 years, and the computer just melts one day, dso will have you fixed up in no time, for no cost. but if you buy all of it yourself, save 200 bucks and then lose all of it if the pc melts down and you dont know whats wrong.

oh and dont forget, both builds come with 3 years of support, and a free game, the warranty is different with each build though. first one is parts 1 year support 3 years, 2nd build is 3 years parts and labor

hope this helps

well i mean, imo the parts you would get would be the parts dso offers, they chose the options for a good reason. if you want a price compare of the lowest price of each item on other websites, youre on your own Evil%20Smile
