    Posted: 08 Jan 2009 at 9:24pm
Anyone ever use the FHD2401 for gaming?  I went to the store with the intentions of picking up a Samsung T240, but the viewing angles realllly bugged me.  It was way too noticable when moving from one side of the screen to the other.  So I grabbed the FHD2401 instead.  Unfortunately I no longer have a computer and I'm waiting on the refund in order to purchase my DS system.  I never got the chance to try the monitor out and the store has a 30 money back guarantee.  My time is running out if I want to return it, but there is no way I'll get my DS system in time.  So...  anyone have experience with this monitor?

Thanks,
pad0

yeah I actually have that issue of the magazine.  They only gave it a 7, so I'm not sure what to thnk...  However after looking at best buy's return policy, they only offer 14 days on monitors, despite what the salesman told me...  That was literally my only question before I bought it, because I wanted to be sure I had enough time to test it out.  Really not sure what to do now..

Return it and get it again when you have your new computer.  Or make BB set it up in-store so you can check it out.  Too much money to spend without knowing if you'll be happy with your purchase.

Well heres the thing..  Maybe you guys can answer this for me.  Basically I bought the monitor the day my brand new computer showed up from **cough ibuypower cough**  and I got a blue screen on the first boot up.  Turned out to be a bad 4870x2 card (among other things).  However after uninstalling the drivers for the card I could then boot into vista and do little things like surf the net, etc.  My question is..  how was I even getting a picture if the graphics card wasn't installed?  Is there some sort of dedicated video chip on the motherboard?  I guess the reason I'm a little worried is because black images looked kind of odd and also when I would drag windows across the screen there would be a serious lag effect.  I'm hoping these issues can be attributed to the lack of a real video card and not to the monitor itself.  I sent the computer back for a refund almost 3 weeks ago..  still waiting for my refund so I can get a DS system.
