Hello
I bought my rig from DS last year I LOVE IT.

My old monitor died, and I'm looking for a new one. I have a GeForce GTX 780. Will that support the 4K monitors?

Thanks forum.

Yes it will.   It supports up to 4096x2160 and 4K is 3840x2160.   Big%20Smile

Here's a rough idea of what you can expect for 4k gaming with a single 780......

Hi MIKEUSA,

Yes it will support 4K but you may have to play at reduced settings. It depends on your game. What games do you want to play and will you be happy below 50-60 Frames/Second.

I suggest you visit AnandTech and see how your 780 stacks up at 4k. If you have a SLI motherboard you might want to add a second 780. It all depends on what level you want to play.

Note that if you did go with SLI like Frank suggest, you might get some thermal throttling. I see that on my 780s under heavy load as I could never get the top card to run cool enough (even with factory overclock on my EVGA FTWs)

Looks like if I really want a 4K monitor I need to get an additional card.
Thanks for the info Forum!!

Yeah, that's what we were hinting at.  Big%20Smile      4K is roughly equivalent to running 4 x 1920x1080 monitors off your single 780.   4K needs a lot more horsepower to run.
