Hello All,
I am trying to get into Windows Vista Home bios to disable the onboard soundcard to I can get my X-Fi Xtreme Fatality Pro installed. I can't get the microphone to work at present and Creative says I need to start from scratch and disable the onboard in bios, delete the onboard drivers and then reinstall everything.
I am at a standstill. I try to use the F-10 to get in Bios but no luck. Is it a different button for Digitalstorm computers? Is my computer just so stinkin' fast that i can't push the button quick enough? HELP!!!!
Thanks, Dave

Now you see, with this kind of quality support, you just can't go wrong. By the way, you really need to make sure before you press the F10, that you are sitting to the left of the keyboard or the key won't register properly. It's all in the angle. |

Thank you SkyR.
OK Frank and EH,
I see how it is.
I wasn't using either hand, I'm ambidextrous and well endowed.
Also, I was using Pythagorean theory so I was sitting at hypotenuse of a right angle to your obtuse comments.
Never get into a land war in Asia and never get into a battle of wits with a Sicilian or a frustrated DigitalStorm owner. LOL
Thanks for the laughs guys and gals.

It's a floor wax! No, it's a whip topping!
Can anyone post up and tell me where that comes from? |

EH,
The ambidextrous and well endowed part, well "blush", I'd rather not discuss too deeply for obvious reasons. I don't want my private email being overrun with offers to, well you know. LOL
The second part, excluding the part about the frustrated Digital Storm owner is a fairly accurate quote from the Sicilian guy in "Princess Bride."
The Pythagorean theory part comes from a guy, surprisingly name "Pythagoras", who came up with mathematical formula about the hypotenuse of a right triangle being equal in length to sum of its two opposite parts, or something to effect. You'll have to ask him to explain it to you, I just know how to calculate it.
Best wishes all and thanks for getting me into the Bios and beyond.

Yes Dakulis, you're definitely in the creative smartass club (I myself would rather be a smartass than a dumbass)....and if Ed has plugged your PM box with offers it's your own fault. ...but I think Ed was referring to the floor paste vs. whipped topping obscure reference, the type of which plagues his everyday thoughts and prevents him from playing well with the other kids. And in response to that, it sounds vaguely and eerily familiar so I'm going to have to go with Ren and Stimpy....cuz it kind of sounds like "it's log, it's log, it's big it's heavy it's wood..."

My friend, you are truly a member of the smart ass club of the month. You know me all too well. Although, it's not Ren & Stimpy. You'll need to go back to the late 70's. In light of giving it up, I really don't want to give you anymore clues. Happy thinking! |

I thought it was both a floor wax and a delicious dessert topping.

I almost put in my second guess with the first, but here goes....
if it's not Ren and Stimpy and it's from the late 70's, I'm picturing myself sitting on a couch with my first girlfriend who I drove 20 miles to see every Saturday night and we'd sit there until 1:00 am when Saturday night live finished and that was my cue to go home before things went too far. So i have a vision of Chevy Chase or Dan Ackroyd saying something along those lines.
This is my last guess, tell me what it is now so you don't get too excited. Sorry it took me this long to reply but I'm in North Cakalaki (Asheville) for a family wedding and couldn't find a computer till now.

The "Too excited" was merely for atmosphere, but you're correct! It is SNL! I think Tyler wanted to say it but just hit the "I don 't give a crap anymore wall" and didn't post his answer. Are you referencing Asheville, North Carolina? I do a whole bunch of business in the Carolinas and Asheville is a beautiful place. A very gay place, but beautiful nonetheless. The wife and I will probably be doing some vacationing out there in the mountains soon. I'm anticipating Bill following up soon with a post about my sexual preference because of my vacationing choice, so I'll prepare myself right now for that. Ok, I'm wearing my best dress and high heels... go ahead. Oh! Did I say that out loud? Edited by EdH63 - 03 May 2008 at 4:45pm |
