So reports are out that AMD might have sent out "beefed up" versions of their 290X and 290 for reviews and benchmarks. And that retail just isn't up to par as the review cards were.
And while that a lone really breaks my heart as I was so excited for the titan killer that was less than $600, there's one more reason. The GTX 780 ti is a fully unlocked GK110 card! It's $699 and it destroys the titan, the 780, and the 290X without any overclocking. At 867mhz, it has a 336gb/s bandwidth. 2880 cuda cores... I'm in love! So glad I didn't buy my 290X's for xfire. 780 ti's... I need you to go a head and come on home now. |

Sounds like a poor decision on AMDs part to send modified parts to press/testing groups. Can't be good for their image...

Yea, good thing AMD. Let's release a card aimed towards hardcore gamers and enthusiast and think they won't notice a difference in batches. *claps* I was so excited for the 290X also.

I wish they would release one with more than 3gb of vram tho... for triple monitor setups you really need at least 4gb
