My thing with custom PCs is this:
take your time take longer if you need to. as-long as when I get it, it runs smooth and I have no problems with it. Edited by DST4ME - 15 Oct 2008 at 1:01am |

Well, I got in touch with DS and it turns out that the PSU was out of stock, so I ended up upgrading to the 1000w (only a $13 difference). Now, in the span of about 30 minutes it is already on stage 4!
I am a little annoyed about having to spend more money on it twice already but, whatever, it is only making it better. |

hey more power never hurts, now you can easily add another GPU and not be at the minimum level as far as the PSU needs go for your system but I understand where you are coming from |

I went through the same on my order, It got to the point where I called every day... why because the updates from the automated system stink, looks like they still do... :) I would see it snag in status for a day, call them, and find out it was not in that status at all, it was actually hung up on some hardware or software glitch that they needed direction on, but my system simply had not bubbled to the top to get me a call yet... I am convinced my staying on top of the process cut the time by days, perhaps a week, merely because I kept calling, answering questions and keeping things moving along.

stage 4 is assembly, so they are taking their time to put it together right.

Yeah, I suppose that's a good thing.... I just hope it is done by the end of the week so hopefully I can have it next weekend. I was already hoping for this weekend, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen

Oh yeah, I haven't ruled them out being done by this weekend, but there's no way, even if it shipped today that it would actually get here by this weekend.

I thought the testing was supposed to take a few days? I never even got an email for it being at stage 5, it just went from 4 to 6.

I know what you mean. I ordered my DS system on 10/05. and two weeks later it's still in stage 1? I called a couple of times to see what might be going on. Chris assured me yesterday that my system would be put on priority. I told him I wasn't upset, rather just curious about where my computer was being held up in the process. Hopefully, it will move along. Most importantly, I want my rig to arrive problem free, and I want it to pass through the stress testing for sure. I know that if I wanted a computer shipped to me fast, I could have ordered a POS Dell. I'm sure the wait is well worth it. Can't wait to get my rig.
