I'm in need of a decent audio recording software that records audio from your soundcard and not your mic. Any suggestions?

only done it a few times but I used sony vegas I know they have an app called acid I think that does sound editing.  What exactly are you recording so we could suggest something.  If its just voice then there are lots of options.  I used sony vegas to do that for a halo video I made but you can find lots of things as well as stuff thats built into windows

I've heard, but can not confirm... Cry that MS in Vista crippled recording using the 'What you hear' or equivelent output of sound cards. I use Xp with a audigy 2z (old huh).You might want to check it out, for whatever software you are about to spend money on.

I use Voice Chat Spy Recorder, to be honest, it is really a nice tool to record audio ofcomputer.

Pro tools if your an Audiophile like me, nothing beats pro tools.Be prepared for the price shock though. Sound booth from adobe is very good too.
