Bought a computer almost a year ago and I want to add another video card (NVidia GTX 680 2GB-overclocked EVGA). Anything I need to do or just pop it in? Power supply and motherboard are compatible. Do I have to stick with the 680 series or the 2GB ones?? thanks guys

You'll just pop it in, contact the SLI ribbon, then enable SLI in your NVIDIA control panel.
As for different SLI cards, well, the answer is that no you don't have to have the exact same cards. However, you really want to. The reason is that NVIDIA doesn't support different cards at the software level, so you'll need to use modded, unsupported drivers. So for most intents and purposes, get an identical card, and save yourself a lot of potential trouble. Edited by Tidgxor - 26 Jul 2013 at 3:36pm |
