Hey all,

My Rig has arrived and it is sweet, I checked to make sure nothing was loose and booted her up..np.

I decided to reboot her and got some kind of Crash Dump.

Started in Safe Mode..then rebooted to normal mode and all seems fine now.
Is this an issue or did my rig "Fix the problem"?

2nd concern..

My order on paper reads: Intel Core 2 Quad QX6850 Exreme 3.00Ghz
My System on the computer reads: Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU Q6850 3.00Ghz

Where is the Quad part? Was a mistake made giving me something else maybe?
I'd like it clarified, thanks

With Intel creative naming, many programs just report what they think it's called.   The Q in this case most likely specifies (int their minds) a Quad CPU.
Life's too short

I think the only Intel 6850 available is the QX6850 quad core extreme 3.0ghz. As long as u see  a 6850 hence it's quad core extreme.

You have the QX6850. If you want to confirm for sure, to put you at ease, download and run CPU-Z.

Grats on your new rig!!!

I did find that when I got my system, I did need to update my video and audio drivers.  Also, I had to down load Vista updates. It ran a bit funky so I then ran CC Cleaner (Registry Cleaner, free and available on Downloads.com) and then did a Disc Clean Up and a Disc Defrag.

Since then, over a month, it has run like a champ! Not even a hic-up!

Just my suggestions for you... I am no expert, just an avid gamer and self-taught gamer nut!

Oh, and I have the same processer as you and yes you got the right one!

No worries. Microsoft didn't miss a single (R) or (TM) in my processor description but can't tell what it is beyond being a Core 2 Quad. Well, at least I know which items I can't use in print without permission.  LOL
