As the post says, it's 5:00 in the freaking morning here. I am currently re-installing all of the updates for windows XP since it launched once again thanks to my system trying to commit suicide on me... again. Angry
Since my life and livelihood revolves around have permanent access to a computer I'm going to bite the bullet and scrape the money together to get a new computer before the death throes of this freaking Dell kill me and my academic life. Plus it'd be nice to be able to play youtube videos without the system stuttering.

Budget: $2,450 roughly

Expectations/Usage: Honestly right now it'd mostly be running lots of word processor and excel sheets. And tons of tabs in firefox and opera, I'm a compulsive tabber at times. I just don't have time to game at the moment but I will be gaming on it. I'm looking forward to playing Skyrim (after the first few major patches come out and it's runnable Big%20Smile). I'm running on a less than ideal 1600x900 monitor currently but I will be upgrading to a 1920x1200 monitor eventually. I have all of the neccesary peripherals for now (mouse, keyboard, speakers and such) so all of the budget is for the PC. Mostly it needs to be able to handle several programs (word, excel, firefox, messenger, media player, etc.) open at the same time without slowing up and flipping out like this one does.

I have a basic build in mind already, the new i7 2600k processor, 8 gigs of RAM (I know I'd use up 4 in no time), an intel 80 gig SSD main drive, a 1 TB hitachi/seagate storage drive, basic dvd-R/RW, a pci wireless card, an HD 6970 (unless someone can provide a good argument on why the GTX 570 is superior) and a Noctua NH-U12P cpu cooler.

The price difference between the GTX 570 and the HD 6970 is only $60 so I'd rather have whichever is the superior card. I have no intention of running sli/crossfire at this point in time.

I would like to know what the difference is between all of the ASUS boards? I know I can look it all up (and I most assuredly will be) but I'd also like the opinions of people here. What seperates the Asus P8P67-M Pro from the Asus P8P67 Deluxe from the Asus P8P67 Sabertooth?

Another question I have is what is the opinion on the new Black Ops Enix case? The price difference between it and the Haf-X is only $49 so I'm curious which is a better case in terms of air cooling? I have a feeling the HAF but I want to know if anyone can testify about the Enix.

Also two last things:
1: When do we expect the new fixed motherboards to come in? It probably won't be an issue for me to wait since I have to wait a fair while before I'll have the money together (at least another month, possibly two).
2: What is Digital Storms philosophy on shipping to PO boxes? Living on campus in campus housing and we're not allowed to have anything shipped to us directly, we can only get PO boxes. If they can't ship to PO boxes I can have it sent to a friends house where I can pick it up.

Approximate Build w/ the HAF-X case:

Thanks for your time,

570 cost less and does better then 6970 at the res you mentioned, but the important thing is that you don't need a 570, you want a 560/6950, I would go with 560.

in a general way, pci lanes mainly separate them and the pci bandwidth, for somebody like you all you need is the p8p67.

enix is much smaller, the haf x has 3 x 200mm fans and you can another to the top for a total of 4 x 200mm fans.

1. fix is due out march/april/may.

2.
D. WHERE WE SHIP.
We ship to any physical address that the shipper/courier can ship to domestically or internationally. We may accommodate (“Customer”) who need to have an item shipped to an APO/FPO address or PO Box depending on the circumstances. Due to the number of wrong addresses from customers, we now charge the face value that the shipper/courier charges us to reroute your package if you did not enter the address correctly. This charge is anywhere from $5-$25 and you agree if your address is wrong, Digital Storm is authorized to charge your credit card for these fees.

guest you got to talk to them to be sure.

Your config needs to be changed, as far as mobo goes you just need the p8p67, psu needs to be corsair cause it has its own 5 year warranty, you just need the 560, the 1TB black caviar is very fast and well worth the money:
